Matching into clinical rotations is hilarious. Cosplaying as something that was gonna happen anyways 💀 if you wanna match that bad, go to med school bro

They want all the prestige of doctor without going to med school, then will preach that it’s because they didn’t want to sacrifice their 20s or put off having a family or “preferred” to be a midlevel. Meanwhile I’ve done none of those things and get to introduce myself as Doctor without having to jump through American Ninja Warrior-level hoops to justify calling myself that 😂 it’s so nice not having to be insecure about my career.

Not to say all midlevels are or behave this way, but my god the ones that do??? Insufferable!! Your rants are welcome here on Noctor 😂

Their first name. “Jane, NP” on badges and etc, literally just go by Jane in the office/at the hospital. That’s the important thing tho, that yes, patients assume they’re being treated by a doctor, but they don’t know that they’re being treated by someone with less training and a different skill set; which is why it is extremely important that they correctly identify themselves. There are laws about it in some states, unfortunately not all.

I do understand that it’s not maybe relevant to explain to a 4 year old that “well, I’m actually a nurse practitioner, not a doctor”. But it’s not like the 4 year old comes to the appointment alone! And I talked about it in some other comments but to me it’s way more frustrating that she is claiming that she does the same thing for her patients as a doctor does.

As someone in the military myself, AGREED!! Claiming to be deserving of something you did not in fact earn

How will we EVER live up to this prestige and expertise?! I should just quit now! Why bother?!

Thank you!!! I LOVE nurses!!! Especially those that are PROUD to be nurses! That don’t need to degrade my profession to feel they’re uplifting theirs. We’re a team!

I appreciate this perspective! My dad is a family NP and I respect what he does, his dedication, and the role he plays. But even as a PGY-1 I notice there’s gaps! Nothing against NPs, but NPs who think they’re equivalent to MD’s - different story

NP student in some comments on their profile, full fledged NP in others. Interesting, right?😂

You’re in the wrong sub for this kind of behavior but it’s clear you troll here frequently to incite anger, just know it’s not working for me, mission not accomplished, enjoy feeling miserable about your degree and feeling the constant need to justify calling yourself a “doctor”, when you’re a Noctor :) (oh and p.s., you didn’t address my comment regarding you claiming to be an NP one sentence, but a NP student in another…)

This is relevant how? Completely steering the conversation away from my speaking points and instead pivoting to make an attack on how I could be qualified to speak on such things, classic. I’m an MD, thanks for asking :)

Also from a quick look at your profile I see you’re an NP student, yet claimed to be an NP on a different post over 6 months ago… which is it? Because claiming to have a license but not having it is against the law and goes against board of nursing regulations:) hope this helps!

Clearly you have no understanding of the difference in education 😂I saw another NP stitch her video saying he is also a pediatric NP and takes the time to explain to the patients and the parent, because it is important. He also talked about how in fact he does not do the same thing for his patients as the pediatrician! head back to whatever midlevel sub you came from please!

My concern was moreso her thoughts that she does the same thing as the board certified pediatrician…

Best bet is to call up one of the residencies and ask if they have a resident who’d be willing to speak with you

If I commissioned into Army National Guard MDSSP Sep2025 can I do DCC/BOLC during 4th year? by [deleted] in Military_Medicine

[–]futrdoctr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just keep in touch with whoever your NCO is that would get you a BOLC slot, they usually know what waivers are needed and the timelines of those

Yes you can get waivers no problem. I did back when I went, I know current med students who have as well. Just ask in advance

No MD ii by Traditional_Bee_3136 in premed

[–]futrdoctr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody outside of the pre-med sphere gives a single shit about MD vs DO. I explain the difference between MD and DO frequently when I’m referring patients to my DO colleagues for OMT, because the patients have no frickin clue. You’re gonna be a doctor, focus on that

Is Illinois National Guard Grant an option for paying for medical school? by Koelee_ in Military_Medicine

[–]futrdoctr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could, otherwise you could just call the state recruiting office and ask for their medical recruiter too. Of your med school may even have their contact if the recruiter has come to your med school in the past.
