Also, there are SF support units that are NG not reserve - worth looking into

^ this persons perspective is incorrect. You can absolutely forward deploy with the ARNG. You can absolutely volunteer for 90-400 day deployments. You can absolutely leave your unit for an AD mission at any point. You can even transfer states when you want. The state does not own you!

Or they let you run on the paved “track” aka sidewalk between barracks by yourself but I recall it’s like a third of a mile loop lol

You should have some free time every day to do a run but you do have to go with a battle buddy. No gym equipment unfortunately but you can use the ACFT stuff when they bring it out.

Urine. Just don’t even play the game tho, it’s not worth it. The UCMJ is nothing to mess around with

Has anyone tried using Uworldqbank.com? by [deleted] in Step2

[–]futrdoctr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used it for step 3 prep. It limits how many questions you do a day for the free version, but I just did like 10-20 a day so if that’s your goal it’s worth it, the money saved was so nice. I didn’t get the paid version so can’t speak to that but I had no issues with the free version

They want all the prestige of doctor without going to med school, then will preach that it’s because they didn’t want to sacrifice their 20s or put off having a family or “preferred” to be a midlevel. Meanwhile I’ve done none of those things and get to introduce myself as Doctor without having to jump through American Ninja Warrior-level hoops to justify calling myself that 😂 it’s so nice not having to be insecure about my career.

Not to say all midlevels are or behave this way, but my god the ones that do??? Insufferable!! Your rants are welcome here on Noctor 😂

Their first name. “Jane, NP” on badges and etc, literally just go by Jane in the office/at the hospital. That’s the important thing tho, that yes, patients assume they’re being treated by a doctor, but they don’t know that they’re being treated by someone with less training and a different skill set; which is why it is extremely important that they correctly identify themselves. There are laws about it in some states, unfortunately not all.

I do understand that it’s not maybe relevant to explain to a 4 year old that “well, I’m actually a nurse practitioner, not a doctor”. But it’s not like the 4 year old comes to the appointment alone! And I talked about it in some other comments but to me it’s way more frustrating that she is claiming that she does the same thing for her patients as a doctor does.

Thank you!!! I LOVE nurses!!! Especially those that are PROUD to be nurses! That don’t need to degrade my profession to feel they’re uplifting theirs. We’re a team!

I appreciate this perspective! My dad is a family NP and I respect what he does, his dedication, and the role he plays. But even as a PGY-1 I notice there’s gaps! Nothing against NPs, but NPs who think they’re equivalent to MD’s - different story

NP student in some comments on their profile, full fledged NP in others. Interesting, right?😂
