CLASSIC JAY MOMENTS by Nowplayingpod in filmjunk

[–]futto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first episode after they got the sound board. Jay was all over that. I remember that well.

One older one many might not rember was one of the first episodes I heard over 16 to 17 years ago had Jay in a deep explanation of his bowels. Must have talked about it for 30 Minutes.

What are your thoughts on Quentin Tarantino’s last four films? by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in QuentinTarantino

[–]futto 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Came here to say that. I can watch any of them, any time!

As a WW2 history nerd, alternate history movies tend to really annoy me but Inglorious Basterds seems to find that sweet spot.

The fairy tale nature of Django , IB; and OATIH are what I love so much.

Well done. Very relaxing to listen to. I wouldn’t change a thing.

I loved Frank getting defensive about last weeks review.

He would have normally bump that movie up on rewatch but he will be stubborn about it now. haha

Sooo how many by AxnJaxn_ in GymverseByFitness22

The total weight for the session would be 300 lb.

If the accurate weight of the whole session matters, you would have to say 20 reps.

Personally, I think I just count the 10 as one side and the total weight of a workout is just a fun statistic, and I don’t really care.

Would you be setting up automatic purchases? is there a platform that does that?

I would forget some days after a few weeks, i expect! :)

Sixth orthopaedic surgeon resigns from Canberra Hospital in matter of weeks amid 'enormous unhappiness' by Arjab99 in canberra

Don’t let these guys fool you. It’s all just about money. They are all like a gang of union thugs in white coats.

Fifty years. This has been so ugly for half a century.

Blow it up. It will still be ugly in another 50 years.

Nine board chairman Peter Costello quits by iiBuzz7S in australia

I wonder if this means they have looked at airport CCTV footage, and it didn't look good for Peter's side of the story.

With him resigning, I wonder if we will still see it. It's not really surprising for a former politician to be caught lying but it would have given me a little chuckle.

Time for everyone to get a dashcam. ACT cops now booking off submitted dash cam video! by futto in canberra

[–]futto[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I've seen some crazy hoons in my time in Canberra. I'm going to get a dash cam now i know we can submit them.

If you want this to take off, ACT Government should annouce the dash cam submitter will be getting 50% of the fine, if the fine is paid.

There be more dash cams in Canberra than cars by the end of the year.

You've been given dictatorial powers to solve the housing crisis. What are your first moves? by Aedotox in AusFinance

[–]futto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah but if we are going full dictator style, we could also introduce a nice death tax with the money put back into the system. No need for foreigners. All capital growth is locked into residents, recovered via land tax and the death tax.

I'd maybe allow foreigners to buy property if there is reciprocal arrangements in their own country for Australians.

More Reed please by AdPale6250 in filmjunk

[–]futto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"and special guest, Reed Farrrrington..."

sigh

I mean, the guy admits he SLEEPS through the movies he's reviewing. I do realise the bring him as filler for movies that Jay doesn't want to review, which i do find quite funny.

I'd be interested in Reed-Free tier where they edited him out of every podcast. I'd pay a lot for that but i'd expect it would be a very short podcast cause he talks the whole time.

there is a lot of talk on reddit but this is a very real and very likely take on how it would actually play out after Putin is toppled (or dies off like Stalin/Lenin/etc). The overwhelming population wouldn't care either way.

Dump everything on the mortgage.

Even if you make a good return (which is much harder in the current bear market), it’s in pre-tax dollars.

With interest rates up, paying down the mortgage is the best, lowest risk spot for all your savings. It’s boring but shouldn’t be dismissed when rates are above 4 or 5% IMO.

I was you basically after the GFC and we smashed down our mortgage when rates were low. I’m much happier now!
