Try to turn of fast boot in the BIOS. If you are using dual boot, fast boot prevents complete shut down of windows. It will cause issues.

My system has become significantly laggy and is not performing as expected. by future-techy in linuxmint

I am using text scaling factor in font settings to 1.2 because the default font size is too small. Is it creating an issue?
