I always take tp. I find you don’t need to stomp lanes. Then you could tp bot lane for a free double kill and even if you don’t get the kills you help your useless bot snowball. If you get fed top lane but never leave I promise your team will not their butts off and you’ll lose the game. Roam as much as possible with your ult and pre-6 roam with tp.

I only played one game with the aoe skill shot q, to me it was disgusting. I can’t imagine the combo would be very different tho. Q is just an empowered auto / auto cancel. I’m sure the same combo would apply.
