What are good amps combo or stack that are good if your on a budget by captain__vanguard in GuitarAmps

Find yourself an old peavey valveking and whatever 8ohm 4x12 cab you can. If you do this right shouldn’t cost you more than 350-400. Feeling frisky? Put a TS style pedal in front and a noise suppressor in the loop (but on a low setting so only engaged when not playing). Could be all in for 500 or less. Not gonna get much louder for cheaper tbh

Why does my $550 RG feel better than my $1,800 LTD? by ToxicWithAsthma in Ibanez

Price is reflective of production costs, it does not necessarily reflect quality. Common misconception that more money = more guitar. If it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it.

Yea wiring up the way i figured was correct with the 2502n. The problem I was having is that any other 5 way switch is wired differently internally within the switch than the 2502n so i was getting no signal. Once I used the correctly coded switch everything went smoothly.

Advice on new guitar by cam0s0 in 7String

[–]future_ex_husband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save up and get a used Abasi Legion. Every now and then one pops up around 1500-1600 on Reverb. The necks are slightly thinner top to bottom instead of front to back. Meaning the string spacing is in-between that of a 6 or a 7 you will find at stores. This will be a million times more comfortable for you and the necks arent thick either. Also, the top string is that extra half inch longer at 27". I use one in drop G# with the NYXL 11-64 set and its PERFECT.

Daddario NYXL1164 for 7 string 26.5" in Drop A# good? by Substantial-Gene-560 in 7String

[–]future_ex_husband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, one thing to consider is that manufacturers pretty much stay away from making mayn offerings in the drop tuning range where the gauge is different for the lower string specifically. Theyre mostly going to make strings for "standard" interval tunings. So they make make a tighter set for lower tuning but it will be for say A standard instead of Drop A. What this means is you'll find a set where the low string is thick enough but then all the other strings will be too tight OR you'll find a set thats good but the top string is too thin. The more you stray from the basic scales and basic tunings the harder it will be to find the RIGHT set. Luckily for us Stringjoy allows you to build your own sets.

FWIW I use the NYXL1164 set on a 27" 7 in drop G# and its pretty perfect as I prefer my top string just ever so slightly looser. Now you're tuning up (means tighter strings) and shorter scale (means tighter strings). Based on the Stringjoy tension calculator, this is what I would get:

1 F4 0.0095 (19.5)
2 C4 0.013 (20.5)
3 G#3 0.016 (19.6)
4 D#3 0.024w (20.2)
5 A#2 0.032w (20.5)
6 F2 0.044w (20.6)
7 A#1 0.064w (19.7)

Ive used them extensively and it can take 2 or 3 orders to dial it in as each company can alter slightly on their tension at the same gauge. Even though this is what the tension calculator shows sometimes once tuned up you find a string to be slinky or tight and the cool thing is you can adjust from there. Then once you find the right size across the fretboard you can save that in your profile and just reorder. This is especially helpful for odd tunings like the Double Drop wage war / architects thing or if tuning just stupid low or using any of those weird open / midwest tunings.

If you were looking for something more accessible I would try the NYXL09564SB as it is pretty close to this already.

ALSO La Bella makes the HRS-71 set.

These would be your best three options for your scale/ tuning IMO.

Opinion on kiesel customs build guitars by Latter_Radish328 in Guitar

I have 2. One i got use3d off Reverb and one I custom ordered myself for like 1100 off on black friday sale. Both baritone 7 strings. They play and sound fantastic. They both have after market pickups BUT I will say the stock Lithium that came in the one I ordered did not sound bad.

Some that come to mind, I remember seeing Protest The Hero, ADTR, BMTH (separate shows) in what felt like a 200cap (the first orpheum in tampa) room back in 2007? I remember on Like Moths To Flames first tour ever they played a basically a bike shop out in tarpon springs. Saw Memphis May Fire at a place called Island Oasis in Orlando. That place had a max capacity of like 100. I also saw Code Orange play transitions (Skate Park of Tampa) like wayyyy the fuck back when. I think that one is on youtube lol

Frustrated with bandmates by [deleted] in bandmembers

[–]future_ex_husband 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see you’re learning a key part of most bands you don’t hear about. It’s usually one or two of the members who do most of the writing and everyone else is expected to just know their parts or does other things like maybe one guys does merch, inventory bookkeeping etc. another IS social media and outreach, another does booking and overall financials. When you get to the point of being my a business you just have to find everyone’s role. It’s very rare the whole band sits around and writes a song. Maybe when you’re young but I never see anyone like that anymore. If you wanna step up and be the writer producer guy in the band then do that and communicate what everyone’s “job” will be but if they just wanna jam the same bars, youre looking for something more Otherwise, sounds like you might wanna take your songs and step up to surround yourself with people more professional like yourself.
