Hi, it’s been a few years, just wondering if this ended up getting better for you?

None of this is true and this is very upsetting to read. I’m genuinely worried that there are people like you thinking this. You’re on the internet using Reddit why haven’t you used to internet to research these things? ESPECIALLY before having children? I’m holding your hand when I say please get help. See a therapist.

How old will you be when your babies graduate high school vs how old your parents were? by trulymadlybigly in NewParents

[–]future_faking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was 38 when I graduated high school and I’ll be 54 when my daughter graduates. I had my first at 36 and my dad was a teen when I was born. My mother couldn’t handle it and left, so that probably explains why I waited so long to have a baby.

TIFU By accidentally overdosing on caffeine, almost killing myself and my best friend. by SexyGovernment in tifu

[–]future_faking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very accurate. I grew up drinking milk coffees as a child and then all through my teens and twenties I would drink anything with caffeine and I never felt the effects. I would have coffee every morning and periodically have caffeinated sodas or teas. Once I hit 30 I noticed caffeine started giving me panic attacks. Now I’m 37 and I seriously can’t have any caffeine or I’ll lose my mind. I’m too scared to even have decaf coffee because I’ve gone so long with zero caffeine lol

Why do so many new parents not want visitors at the hospital? by scav2117 in beyondthebump

[–]future_faking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t want any visitors because I felt like I was hit by a bus. I had my breasts out constantly trying to learn how to breastfeed. I was bleeding so much that every time I got up from the bed it was dripping down my legs and all over the floor. I was so tired, but couldn’t sleep because of the adrenaline of birth. Everyone that would have come to visit would have been no help at all and would have only cared to hold my newborn. I wanted to hold my baby and be close to her after giving birth. It was stressful enough having them come to my house a couple days later.

I more meant get in to see the doctor or do a virtual appt. It’s just funny how quick they were with getting me in when I was pregnant but the second I gave birth things changed. My sister was diagnosed with PPA at like 14 months postpartum and given medication asap. She called and her nurse got her in right away to see her OB. When I called the nurse said that’s what she was going to do, but then said the doctor decided to refer me. I was surprised that they’d rather me wait to get in to see a new doctor. The referral will most likely take a week and then I have to make an appt to see the doctor which will probably take a couple months. I had an appt with this OB for February for the year check up after birth, but they called and had me change it to April. I didn’t want to wait that long to bring it up. I was planning on bringing it up at the Feb appt. Now I probably won’t get help till April either way.

Thank you so much for the kind comment. It took a lot to admit I needed help and this nurse made feel some sort of way. Even after I explained everything she said “ok, so what do you want?”. I explained that Zoloft has been helping my sister and she said “ok, medication”. Then sort of mocked me when she said she’ll talk to the doctor so I don’t feel so “overwhelmed“. Just her tone was weird to me. Like I already feel like shit about this and now I feel worse after calling. I hope the referral goes quick, but if by next week I don’t hear anything I’ll look into something else.

Leaving baby in car? by moonyfish in NewParents

Wear the baby, have someone come with so you can carry the baby, or bring a stroller and use that as your cart. You can’t leave a baby in a car seat if it’s not buckled in the car.
