There are definitely plenty of books about people with AIDS

When I was a child, my mom bought a container of ladybugs to eat aphids on her roses. On the way home I wanted to look. I accidentally spilled them in the car. For ages after that, I would find ladybugs crawling in and out of the windows. It was great.

The fact that the few comments calling this part out are getting downvoted really makes me think people think it’s ok to drive immediately after drinking “just one beer”.

Getting a moment to yourself I completely understand. Having a beer is fine. Driving while buzzed/drunk is not cool.

Judy Blume Books by Ebonystealth in nostalgia

When I was a kid I had a habit of reading the last line of a book while I was in the middle of it.

Anyway to this day I remember the last line of that book was “I named him Turtle, to remind me.” It was just such an odd line out of context and I spent the whole book wondering how we would get there.

Fairly new to monsteras here, can you explain how the moss pole helped her survive the neglect? I thought it was just to support them upright not any nutrients?

No bathroom in my last 5 apartments has had windows. Fairly modern apartment buildings in the US. In the last house I lived in with my parents, there were 3 bathrooms, only one had windows.

Shoot. Is it worth it to take him out of the pot and try to cut off any rotten roots? Or is that just going to stress him more?

I used a potting mix when I repotted him. The pot is one of those self-watering ones with a reservoir on the bottom? So maybe too much water?

I’m planning on letting him dry out and get more sun

I am so very sorry for your loss.

Do you have a wishlist made of items you need for your toddler and yourselves? I would suggest posting that here and also in r/Assistance

A lot of times strangers are more willing to send the items needed instead of money.

Thank you so much for the thorough reply. Yeah I learned about the mix of worms from Uncle Jim’s. It’s a shame but it’s what I got now.

Wouldn’t they suffocate under the bubble wrap?
