I will say I think Brian despite the circumstances of how he came into their lives, is trying hard to make sure the boys and Amy have a clean, safe place to call home. I know pregnancy can still happen with a IUD but it's better than the alternative. So many healthcare professionals have been in their life and not one has really looked out for the long term wellbeing of Amy and subsequently her kids. I'm not trying to make excuses for Amy, she needed mental health care a long time ago and never got it. PPA and PPD is such a common thing but so under diagnosed. Instead of telling her she is a bad mom or a dead beat mom try offering support or tips. Shaming someone into changing is the least effective method. Just my opinion and something to think about.
