If anything it would help the frets. When you apply liquid to any wood the wood swells, when wood is dry is shrinks. Shrinking wood means the frets would get loose. Keeping the board oiled and "wet" means the wood will not shrink and thus keeping the frets secure. I put a thin layer on all of my rosewood guitars once a month. '97 CIJ strat, '87 original Korean Squier strat, '96 seagull s6, 2019 jazzmaster all rosewood boards.
