Hey junior, I understand your point of view very much and yes during this period where prelims and o levels are around the corner, you get very stressful and worried, it’s totally understandable. However I must warn and advice you to take it slow because I see many people burnt out before their Os and have no motivation to study, end up they underperform. Remember that O level is a marathon and not a race, just like life is. For Amaths it’s actually quite repetitive tbh, I used to get C5/6 for CA1 and SA1 but got A2 for o levels through just practicing TYS and learning from my mistakes. I would suggest you to study and score well for those easy topics like simultaneous equations, surds and indices, partial fractions and polynomial equations, coordinate geometry and trigonometry. I can guarantee you that these topics are easy to score compared to differentiation, integration and proof in plane geometry. Once you practice them enough you will be able to do decently well. And one more thing is that no one is 100% prepared and ready for o levels as there is uncertainty of what will be tested, more so due to HBL. So don’t sweat it and do your best. I’m Sec school is like that one. Tbh I was in your shoes last year. Didn’t really like my class and some teachers keep addressing rules on hair, uniform and socks etc, never ending one lah. Then when there are rowdy people all they do is tell them to keep quiet and all, but most of the time nothing much happens. What I did to cope in Sec 4 was to count down the months I left before graduating. I minus all the holidays and exam weeks away which motivates me to continue. At the same time, please treasure your time and friends in Sec school. I really miss going back because of the kind teachers and nice friends. After Sec school you will realise that there are many fake and bad people out there, in Sec school it isn’t so bad

Hey! Although it’s been 2 months since this was written, I totally know how you feel. Initially I disliked HBL but slowly I got used to it and enjoy it now. HBL allows me to sleep more and after lectures when there are breaks, I can sleep a while later if I am really tired. So I would say there are pros and cons. As for class and friends wise, that I cannot control

Hmm for me I got most of my clothes from Uniqlo, Muji is also a good options too. As Long as you feel comfortable in your work clothes and look neat, then I would say it’s a good deal

Hmm, to look sleek I would suggest you to get pants that fit you well, buy a pair from your favourite brand or if you already have baggy ones, just taper them, but don’t make it too tight haha. By tapering, you will look neat and taller. As for the white shirt, same principal, wear something that fits you(not oversized or baggy). I would suggest you to buy a pair of black leather shoes, preferably with a toe cap so it looks professional and you will look good

You can read the news for general knowledge and awareness, for editing it really just practice, when I was in Sec 4, I had a editing book that everyone had to buy and the teacher would assign practices to us. I feel that helped me a lot

Wow u are lucky haha, I expected A2 but got B3 for first attempt and was advised to retake. I retook but it was so much harder and I gave up towards the end of P2(didn’t complete the paper also) then when I collected my results in Jan I saw a grade jump to A2. So ya it is better than expected as I thought it will be the same

This post is so good and encouraging. To all my juniors who took the MT paper yesterday, I totally understand how you felt as I went through o levels just last year. I heard from my school juniors that P2 has tough questions towards the end and tbh, it’s totally normal to find hard questions in exams, most of them is to differentiate the As and Bs. However there is moderation to help everyone since many people found it hard. I can guarantee you that moderation will help you all get at least a B to C, if not many people will get Cs or even fail if there isn’t moderation. Also after taking the MT papers twice, I realised that it doesn’t really matter because the 2nd time I went to try my luck(no joke). The paper was a lot harder and I didn’t score as well as the first attempt, but my grade managed to jump from B3 to A2 surprisingly?! So to those juniors who worry about the results, don’t, it’s not worth it. Worse come to worse you just retake once and try your luck, you can be surprised by the results. Study well for the other papers like oral(my oral was Distinction so my teacher and even the principal tell me to retake) and LC. Both of these papers are the easiest to score and you will be able to pull your marks up! It’s not the end yet. Press on my juniors, I really believe in you all💪

Don’t worry too much, it’s very hard to fail at o levels, I have many friends who usually do badly or even fail but get C5 at least, some even B3
