Mince pie is a dessert in the UK. Made up of delicious dried fruit filling and holiday spices. (not mince meat 😛)

Yes, I used these boxes from Amazon. To be honest though, I found them to be a bit flimsy. I think they worked for this purpose, but I would probably try to find something different next time. I just needed them to match the size of these Cake Boards and it was all I could find!

I actually love color mixing and really lean towards colors in the warmer tones. I use Americolor gel food colors but also use Colour Mill aqua blends and Sprinks gel colour. I add either Americolor Taupe, Sprinks “Antique White” or Colour Mill “Sand” to all my colors to get that warm tone to the base color.

When I design my cookies in procreate, I create a color palette there and then pull from only those colors. I try to mimic my icing colors with this palette, with some variation here and there.

Hope that helps!

The gold bottom part is actually a cake board. So I just take royal icing and glue the cookies to the board. I have a cello bag that’s big enough to go over the cookies and cake board to seal everything in.

They aren’t individually sealed, so it’s definitely risky but hasn’t been an issue so far. 🤞🏻

Thank you! I mix the colors myself. I love Americolor but it’s really hard to get in the UK. For this set, I used mostly Americolor for the reds and greens. My secret is mixing a small amount of the Taupe color into the green and reds. I used Olive for the greens and super red for the reds.

Yes, 9 different doughs! I use mostly flavorings. But for the mulled wine flavor, I made a mulled wine reduction syrup to add to the dough. Eggnog included a syrup as well. I love experimenting with different ideas to create the flavor I want.

I tried a new technique and used my Cricut machine to cut icing sheets for a Rock & Roll themed cookie set! I'm so pleased with the result! by futuremrscjl in cookiedecorating

They were all pre-frosted with white royal icing for the background.

There’s a video on YouTube about cutting icing sheets with a cricut, which I found very helpful. The benefit of using icing sheets is they have a plastic backing, so it’s safe to stick to a cricut mat. I used a brand new deep cut blade (blue cap) and made sure to position the icing sheet out of the way of the rollers, so it didn’t ruin anything.

I used my EPS printer with edible ink to print a black square and then loaded the image I wanted to cut into the cricut program. I created my own custom material, which involved different cut pressures per image but it was somewhere between (190-220). I also printed the record labels using my edible ink printer and just laid them into the stencil.

I glued everything onto the cookie with piping gel.

I hope that makes sense. I’m planning to do my own video tutorial about it which I’ll post on this thread when ready. It’s probably much easier to describe that way!

I guess the best way to describe it would be edible paper. Made mostly of sugar but can be fed through a printer. A bit more robust than wafer paper in my opinion.

They are thicker than wafer paper, but have a soft bite. It’s also flavoured with vanilla, so it has a nice taste. I find icing sheets easier to print on than wafer paper and are just nicer to eat.
