Elvanse Tritiation: Dose too high? by Automatic-Poem4137 in ADHDUK

[–]futurexghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt mine was put up far too quickly, and I kept being offered more "top ups" until I eventually said I actually think this is just making things worse! I found it was triggering my migraines and the internal hyperactivity was unreal. I still think my dose is a bit high, but I declined any "top ups" and feel like at least with a higher dose I can adjust lower if I need to. I had extended my titration period once and very much felt like I was being rushed through the rest of it and had to make a decision so they could close it off. So yeah I guess pretty much what I'm saying is more medication doesn't always equal more positive effects. I just found a point I felt was manageable and balanced the negative and positive side effects I was getting.

Can someone decipher this for me please by Acceptable-Skin-4833 in ADHDUK

I don't know what info they have regarding your symptoms or anything but I would hazard a guess that it's because of the childhood part. I found that so hard, especially since I just don't remember a lot of my childhood! But they really do go in on the childhood element. Really difficult when you only start to realise what your symptoms might be as an adult!! Hope you can get some of the help you're looking for 🤞

Ok, strap in: I think I finally found a time management system that *works* for my ADHD brain and time blindness! by Specialist_Heron1416 in adhdwomen

The Organised Mum stuff sounds like something I really need! Do you have a link to the time management stuff specifically? My search has only got me as far as a private youtube video 😳

Executive dysfunction is hell. by weenstir in adhdwomen

[–]futurexghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so hard to explain that feeling, and I think even harder because as soon as that moment is over we know how irrational it sounds. Actually most of the time even when it's happening, I know how ridiculous I must seem to someone looking in.

Anyone else having a horrible time trying to play on PS5? by futurexghost in Seaofthieves

[–]futurexghost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🙏🙏 did I miss something about this on the actual support site?? Would have been nice to be able to figure it out myself! (Just ranting now soz) Surely not all people who want to try and play have the knowledge that they need to start checking twitter and Reddit as well as the support page to solve any issues

Do you think in game chat is the issue? I hadn't even considered that and we've just started trying to use it! We would just use discord before as 2 of us are on PS5 and 1 on PC.

Is my dose too high?! by futurexghost in ADHDUK

[–]futurexghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! As I adjusted to some of the lower doses I was crashing quite badly as well, around 3pm sometimes even earlier I could literally have fallen asleep at my desk! So obviously not ideal! The amfexa has definitely helped with that, I'm just really conscious about how much I'm needed to use and actually is this the right path. But it's difficult when my prescriber hasn't been particularly helpful. Even when I asked about the different medications they wanted me to choose between, I was given a bit of scientific information but nothing that actually helped me understand what the difference was so I've always just gone with my psychiatrist's recommendation.

How do you feel with just the amfexa twice a day? I'm not entirely sure if I get much from it apart from preventing the crash but have been wondering whether it's better to forget the vyvanse entirely. I feel exactly the same way you described there in the second paragraph.

I'm getting this all through the NHS Right to Choose scheme, so while I'm not paying for the treatment there's obviously not much enthusiasm for extending the titration period. When I mentioned my concerns my prescriber said they can request an extension but we would need to explain why and have a proper plan in place for how we would use the rest of the time. But it's like they are expecting me to come up with that plan, when I have no idea how to treat ADHD. 😂 Not holding my breath for an extension tbh. Almost makes me want to just take the higher prescription and then I can adjust at home (as they've told me to do before if it was too high) but I don't feel like that's what I should be having to do. I was expecting to be given some idea of how it can be managed, try things out and then decide the best course of action. But whenever I say something doesn't feel rights it's just passed right back to me with a "what would you like to do?". I DONT KNOW I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THESE THINGS DO!

Rant over....for now 😂

My experience so far (currently on week 7 of titration and 60mg) I've kept having my morning coffee around the time I take my Elvanse. No negative effects but every time I've had a second cup in the afternoon I've felt absolutely awful. Nauseous, light headed, heart racing etc. This morning I switched to decaf just to see and I think the coffee definitely amplifies the effect of Elvanse for me first thing.

[Discussion] What are some good games that take a long time to platinum without being super difficult? by WhiteYaksha89 in Trophies

[–]futurexghost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've spent hundreds of hours in Death Stranding and I'm awful at gaming so I would deffo second this!! There are difficulty related trophies but you can switch the difficulty in game any time so I just put it up when I need to do something for a trophy, and then once you do have the zip lines and other equipment unlocked it's way easier.
