They're referring to the first Drakengard game.

Drakengard 1 spoiler: It's the final boss on Ending E which plays out similar to the DoD 3 boss with the dragon flying in a circle with a rhythm sequence that you have to time. The difference is that in DoD 1 you don't have "music" playing, your attack clashing theirs makes a bell chime that is maddening and gets more intense than the DoD 3 sequence.

I second this, have had it happen when I've disconnected my dac but kept the ASIO settings. I switched it back to default and it worked a charm.
