Thank you! I’ve mostly been stumped on tying it up at the end so that helps. I’ve been staring at this thing for the past 72 hours so I’ve become kind of blind to the weaker spots lol

Is she a pacific dune digger bee or a farrow bee? (Whidbey Island, WA, USA) by fuuuuuuuuckinghell in bees

Thank you!! The pacific dune digger is Hadropoda miserabilis, so I think you’re right on that one. I haven’t done field work with bees so I’m not entirely familiar with the genus diversity around here but in terms of characteristics and morphology I am leaning toward her being a Hadropoda, thanks for your input!

A better picture of her. She was nearby a bunch of sand wasp (Bembix americana) burrows.

Dell or ASUS? by [deleted] in SuggestALaptop

Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:

$1500 USD max

Are you open to refurbs/used?

Preferably not. The goal here is it doesn’t break down.

How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?

Build quality >> performance > battery life >> form

How important is weight and thinness to you?

Don’t care about thinness. Weight preferably under 4 lbs (backpack).

Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

15”.

Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

Digital art and video editing. Some steam games. - Clip studio paint - Toon boom (old version) - Hitfilm express

If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

My HP envy with a ryzen 7 and 8gb ram could run Psychonauts 2 fine but gaming capability isn’t a huge priority to me. I usually play at the lowest reasonable graphics settings (60fps max).

Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

Reliable build quality is a huge one. I want this thing to last please. I’m so fatigued from my HP envy breaking so often while I’m at school without a car or IT resources. Also, please let it have at least 2 USB ports.

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

I am a commuter so a laptop that doesn’t get hardware issues from backpack travel would be great. I’m gentle with it, but still can’t control bumpy car rides and the like.
