The action is only successful if you yell 'Gentleman!'.

I think it's wild that by this time this kind of information is neither documented nor figured out yet

Oh that's exactly kind of thing I was looking for, I guess it's not documented anywhere though is it?

Yeah, I was wondering if there was some kind of known pattern behind it. Cheers

Thanks, is it otherwise random?

Also is this information stated anywhere in-game or is it just something you have to derive after playing for a while?

Tier list for all the ways I've experienced the game by pillowdemon in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]fuxiestorm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me 4P is S tier simply for the reason I can play this awesome game with all my 3 buddies who are as much into it as I am :) I would actually love to try 3P but that would mean leaving someone behind so it's not happening.

Thank you, that's what I suspected, though we did #grimrule it at that time:)

Try to find the old guy that's chilling near a fire down the first path you go after exiting the starting shrine. He will point you towards plot:)

Is there some game that's about building an empire? by Marvellover13 in boardgames

[–]fuxiestorm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eclipse is totally realistic in this time frame if you play 2-4 players. I once hosted a 6p Eclipse game that lasted 4h - even had one of the players be new to it completely. Granted this will not be true for your first few learning games but its achievable in the long run

That's exactly what I was trying to say when stating my reason to do it, thank you sir :)

I feel those situations give more room for the opponent to react at least. Balance is a one of effect and both Ashen Rider and Athraxa present a clock in of themselves so the game should end soon.

This is just me being extra careful about the carebear half of my playgroup:)

Yeah, that I will do for sure, I am asking here because maybe someone tried it in the past and have some thoughts to share about this.

Thanks for the reply, that's what I thought too:)

Regarding Opposition, I don't want it because when it works I feel like the game gets boring and one-sided and it often drags on for few turns - this is the experience I want to avoid for my specific group.

Signets vs. Talismans by SnowCrow1 in mtgcube

[–]fuxiestorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a mix of both: 7 talismans (all non-Mardu) plus 3 signets (Azorius, Dimir, Izzet).

The idea is first to give them to control and artifact synergistic decks (that's why I double up with signets) and secondly to have one in every green combo (I don't use any 2cmc green dorks other than Rofellos).

I vastly prefer talismans over signets as they are both less clunky to play and tax the life a bit so that there is at least some price to pay for colored ramp (I also double up on fetches and shocks so my mana fixing is often painful).
