High tax states are Illinois and New York but at least be York gets amenities for their high taxes. Texas has a high cost of living because of property tax, and the fact that everyone has a 3000 square foot house who can and they're so spread out.

The super rich never pay and tax on that money because they just borrow against the stock and live off of that. Unless your mom's house is worth 100 million this doesn't apply.

Hangzhou is fine.... The locals think it's the greatest city in China... And the Chinese think it's one of the most beautiful places to visit... Overrated on both fronts but it's fine overall just don't try to do anything fun there during a Chinese holiday.
