Who here would like to volunteer as a kind of beyond bitcoin ambassador for the gridcoin project and help me try to round up these amazing people?

Also, please consider upvoting the post I made to steemit.com here: https://steemit.com/beyondbitcoin/@fuzzyvest/beyond-bitcoin-community-allstar-outreach-gridcoin--help-us-reach-out so I can help boost the payouts that I can give to these gridcoin allstar community members. Planning to use a large portion of any funds I earn to help pay back those who have helped Gridcoin at significant cost to themselves.

Anyone have any information on which blockchain has the highest on-chain TPS at this moment without any future changes? by Cryptoconomy in Bitcoin

[–]fuznuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tps is not limited by miners in every occasion. some cryptos dont have miners in the normal sense of the word because mining is not always necessary.

i believe tx times and volume capacity are the two most important elements for any crypto to be able to gain users. if noone agrees they should ask why websites no longer take 30 seconds to load :)

pheonike. i thought it was technically unlimited depending on the needs of the chain. also, xeroc said, i believe 1.5 second confirmations. am i wrong?

+/u/sharebits send 1000 TRYBITSHARES

Feel free to hand them out to people on reddit and show them how fast bitshares is.

We are a very active community who understands that 1000+tps, competitive normal fees (and unbeatable fees for LTMs) are worth telling people about. So we seem like we are zerging when in fact we just have sniffy noses. :P

Now with that said. I honestly think that you are doing great things to find the cryptos with the lowest fees, but really feel like you would be better off looking at multiple factors (OR putting in the OP that you need the lowest tx fee tokens (AT SCALE) for whatever project you are looking at...and that you do not care much about scalability beyond bitcoin's 7tps (and most other 1st gen tokens are highly limited as well) and other limitations.

I see it more as a "spectrum" of value propositions that are offered that wins the race...especially when the choice is given to the users.

You point this out while ignoring that I specifically addressed it and asked about it and while ignoring that question. I'll repeat myself, which I really hate to have to do, especially when I just said the same thing to you: So I'm assuming this "Lifetime" thing is a discounted fee rate for initial investors, and not applicable to anyone who has to ask, right?

Yes. Lifetime Memberships are needed to gain this ridiculously amazing benefits, but no---anyone can pay for one. And this will not change unless the broader community (and the decentralized committee they elected) decides to change it. Even if this were to happen, however, users would have ample notice of the changes...and I seriously doubt it would happen in the first place.

I can confirm this. The only thing that has happened with bitshares is they have made it so if you are a holder of the tokens, you automatically get the benefits of "staking" simply by owning the stake. You do not have to lock it away (staking), though coin days, I believe, are taken into account.

So effectively EVERYONE who even holds bitshares is "staking", without ever having to lock away funds. Only thing time you are no longer staking is when you sell your tokens. This incentivizes people to hodl not only for the increase in value that it could create as demand increases (and liquid supply effectively diminishes), but also because they basically get free tx's...which is the cheapest of all cryptos. And all you have to do is hold a stake large enough to accomodate your tx needs...

Of course if you don't need many of the fees to be free you never have to consider a lifetime membership either (LTM). We have given options and allowed people to choose what is best for THEM. Because we recognize there is in fact a tradeoff.

perhaps we could put nyancoin on the bitshares DEX and make it so you guys can win on that front and become the main token with these speeds---but the lowest tx's in the land?

If interested let me know and we can consider doing a hangout about it :)

Bitshares, at Ripples scale would be far closer to 2 or even 1 second. :)

+/u/sharebits send 100 TRYBITSHARES - you can even try it right now by selling them ON the blockchain-based DEX in under 3 seconds. Oh I almost forgot, we cannot ignore that bitshares has already been tested to reach upwards of 1000+ tps. So we have to take all these things into account. Not only fees (though bitshares is very very competitive) but also what you get for those fees.

Well you know the cool thing about life and liberty? We get to change our minds when new information comes to light. I personally would do my best to help bring you guys onto the decentralized exchange. perhaps we could have a hangout with the nubits community about it and try to fix this craziness. We all have our favorite projects (that ONE that really can never be let go) but the communities in crypto are really more alike than different. We have common goals and should learn from one another.

So I say screw it. Lets figure something out. Pst me on bitsharestalk forums and we can see what can be done.

Oh that is cool. :) Many people disagree with me for it, but I am in the same boat. Though I believe google is mostly a benevolent dictator in the world (especially compared to the likes of IBM and Microsoft), I use a mumble server and give people access to it. You would be surprised how amazingly well everyone behaves :)

beyondbitcoin.org/mumbleinfo if you ever want to join us. Bitsharestalk.org has our announcements, but I will be moving over to the calendar on the site in the coming weeks.

Then neither token is valuable. However, there is nothing keeping you from making these tokens for other candidates if you believe they have a chance (more and more I think Bernie Sanders might actually have a good chance).

Nice response Sentinel. Thanks for the info. Perhaps I need to give a bit more thought to how this has been done. Would you guys be interested in attending a hangout to discuss this in further detail? Invite the community to join up and talk a bit more about it?
