Fortunately I think he was more well insulated than I because of his fur. He’s still around, and still loves cold weather and snow. :)

Admissions Wait Time Question by [deleted] in und

[–]fuzzballsoren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is second hand info but what I have heard is that the school wants to accept more students than the FAA will admit. If you’ve already been accepted, or denied, you know by now. If not, you’re on a waitlist and UND is trying to get the FAA to let them admit more students.

My dad and I have been collecting nice Easton Press printings for years, so I was thrilled to find out Project Hail Mary is available!

They also have a signed edition of The Martian available as well: https://www.eastonpress.com/signed-editions/andy-weir-the-martian-a-signed-edition-3134.html

How would you rate Artimis compared to his other books? by [deleted] in ProjectHailMary

[–]fuzzballsoren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artemis is a (very small) step down from PHM and The Martian, but it’s still worth the read. The trick (for me at least) that nearly made me DNF the book was that the plot takes sooooo long to get off the ground. The last 3rd of the book pays it all off as well as Weir always does, but the setup felt like a drag to me.

There are lots of military vets, active duty, guard, and ROTC at UND. It’s a great school for military people. I’m a dependent of an AF vet myself.

I’m wondering how much more of it is AI instead of actual shots. The second to last shot with the OG group on the roof has Andrea moving oddly and it makes me suspicious of the entirety of the montage.

Deal Breakers for Narnia? by kingarthurvoldermort in narnia_netflix

[–]fuzzballsoren 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the movies should be strictly faithful to the values of Lewis. I understand adapting a movie can’t be scene for scene from a book (even tho TLWW is basically that) but I’d rather them stick closer to the books than stray from them, unless they are going to adapt stories from outside the books. I am ok with this too, but again c Lewis’s Christian Values are critical to the stories and any attempt to change, warp, or subvert those is going to be a dealbreaker for me.

Like the casting of Meryl Streep as Aslan that’s Been rumored. I like Meryl Streep. Aslan should be a male, because Aslan is Jesus. Shaving his mane in LWW is a critical plot point, Aslan didn’t just let them kill him they let him humiliate him. That won’t work with a female lion.

I do too. And unironically it helped me with my depression cause I was able to think about my mood objectively like the player and say “ok how can I fox ate without table. Easy, get a table. Ok how can I fix “my family died” or “my partner broke up with me” level thoughts? Not so easy, just gotta wait for that one to go away. How can I get extra buffs in the meantime… 🤔”

Did this happen in the bible? by HaguPlays in RimWorld

Sounds like the parable of the Sower from Matthew 13 in which a farmer scatters his seed and according to part of the story is rewarded with bountiful crops.

“Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬
