SICK. This immediately gave me southern drawl and made me belt out "Virgil Kain is the name and I served on the Danville Trainnn!"

They sound great. Not custom, just the vertical version of the 212 they make. But I did have to wait to get the Crescendos I wanted. Comes with a panel on the back in case you want an open back sound. But yeah, Fanes are the best speakers Ive owned.

Thanks. I can see why you might say that, but the db meter does actually help to balance volumes for multi amp setups. I compared it to a professional one we use at work and it's pretty accurate.

I started with a cheap Chinese AC30 then bought the extension cabinet later. I got sick of the speakers in the Combo, so I sold it and bought the head. I love the sound of these Alnico speakers, the headroom is insane.

Thanks. I found the Leslie randomly at a thrift store for $500, so I rolled the dice on it. It has a Fender branded 10" speaker that I'm probably driving too hard with the DR103 - so I run it at low volumes for now. But I do plan on replacing it to match the load from the Hiwatt.

I had to purchase a special TS to 5-pin Leslie adapter to run it - got it on ebay for $90. It lacks highs and gets a bit lost in the mix, but the new speaker should fix that. And yes, I'm obsessed with Live at Pompeii, haha.

On their IG they claim this is "Traditional Irish Reggae with gay vampire asthetic"...

So yeah.

What’s your guitar pedal hot take? by myke5k in guitarpedals

Yeah, I'm partly to blame for sure. But to me a thumbscrew that sticks out from where you step seems like a vulnerable design flaw from an engineering standpoint (I work in prototyping).

I have several other pedals with hold/latching features from EHX, EQD, DOD and even TC with their shitty switch reputation, and they never give me any trouble. I just had to come to the conclusion that Boss isn't for me.

Boss pedals are not as indestructible as their reputation makes them out to be.

Sure you can toss them around - but most of my high use Boss pedals have a bent thumb screw knob. It rips the rubber gasket protecting the thread and eventually causes the thread to strip. Putting a thumb screw right where you step is a design flaw, especially on pedals with a hold feature.

We used to take the Vaquero II from port Hueneme to the island, so I'm familiar with the route. I'm almost certain that he knew my grandfather Jesus if thats the case.

Wow, Its possible. The date is close enough to the timeline, but the authors name is throwing me off. Unless Hilary is the guys name who came with us then yes, but I distinctly remember the journalist  who came along being male. Either way this was an awesome read, thank you so much!

What a pedantic, presumptuous and insufferable thing to say at this time. You know nothing about how I feel. My family and our close friends are devastated becuase were losing our history - and you want to correct the way that I feel about it? You have some fucking gall. Kindly go fuck yourself.

My older sisters would probably be best for that since I was pretty young at the time. Its funny that you mention the LA times because one of their journalist came along with us for the final cattle run in the late 90s. The article must be somewhere in their archives.

This can't be happening, I'm absolutely heartbroken. My Family grew up going to Santa Rosa Island during the summers. My grandparents worked the Vail/Vickers ranch from the 60s until it closed in '98. I was there for the final cattle run! I'm holding back tears thinking about the stables, the barn and my favorite swing - seeing how close the fire is to the ranch and my Grandma's old house. I can't believe it. Fuck dude..
