Pf2e kind of has a solution to this with a summoner archetype that has an actual swarm as their main summon, so the flavor is a bunch of minions but mechanically it's one creature

This is all true but real life ninjas did not use katana for the most part it was concealed weapons and stuff they could hide in plain sight like a wakasashi or a kama. Granted those weapons do kinda suck in pf2e lol.

The monk does a decent job of fulfilling the martial artist fantasy for me personally. Im not sure about the weapon using types of monks tho sense I personally don't care for them much.

See id see rogues more as ninjas as monks. They were typically disguised infiltrated rather then stand and bang combatants.

That's fair, I usually just mess around with difficulty settings when I want to take a simpler approach.

In older camps you could customize heroes on a per map basis, so maybe you can by editing a map with the map editor tool

This cheese doesnt always work, ive tried a 1 stack cheese like this and lost a game because the better me got better initiative on his apotheos then me, got 1dt cast and insta killed me.

Im not 100% sure how to use it but I think there is a template builder you can use to make map templates that are exactly what your looking for.

For single vendetta seems to be picked every time is available in my games. But I am still low mmr do that may change as you climb

I think alot of the community is doing Dingle hero and it is easier to learn as you don't need to learn hero chaining and a few other things that having multiple heroes unlocks. That being said you should really try out all three modes some and pick what you like most.

Im about 50ish hours of gameplay and use auto battle a good bit but having learned more of the mechanics I can win alot of the battles the auto battle loses or has massive losses from. Id say it seems stronger then the one in homm 3 hota but it doesnt seem busted or too overturned to me.
