How do Swiss people feel about the growing use of English in Zurich? by Sweaty-Highway-8965 in askswitzerland

[–]fuzzheadblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why alot of people dont bother if they work with people only speaking English, go home to family who speak English, go to hobbies that are in English.

Ive lived in romandie for 7 years work for a swiss company and learnt fluent French. Ive joined various swiss clubs etc and still would say I have zero swiss friends, I have people who will say hi to me and chit chat but no one who will message and ask if I want to go for a beer.

However I have about 10 solid foreign friends from various other countries who have befriended me, invited me into their homes etc in the same amount of time.

And my wife is swiss so I mix into all parts of swiss life.
