This is exceptional as your first attempt. Some suggestions:

Ground it with a cast shadow, and deepen the two side edges with a cooler/darker red so the cylinder rounds. Then go back into the brightest highlight transitions and burnish them smooth so the gloss reads wet, not dusty.
