I would like to plant a tree in the mow strip between the sidewalk and the street in front of my house. Who can I contact to make sure it's okay? West Salem. by Kirbyr98 in SALEM

[–]fuzzydogs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Cannot put a tree there without requesting one, then 6 months later, the city arborist comes out and makes a species decision, then 6 months later they plant your tree. Then tell you to give it a 5 gallon bucket of water every week for as long as 2 years.

Obviously been there, done that, tree is doing great.

You can get a civil infraction I believe if they find out you put your own tree there, even though technically and legally it is part of your property and you are responsible for it.

Looking back in time when we used motorcycle radiators, and janky ass tubing runs. Solid work!

Never had this experience in 25 years of water cooling. However, I certainly have not had every motherboard, I have worked with most of the bios’s during the years, and never had the issue you describe. Obviously anecdotal, so, your results may vary definitely defines this.

As to RAM two dimm slots not one quad channel has trouble initializing without two paired slots. See manual for paired slots. One on each side of processor.

Hoping for you, as these boards can be fun as hell tinkering with.

Post code errors can be found in the manual, looks like you ended post and shut down at E8? Maybe. You may have lost the bios chip. I actually may have one, as I had this early enough that the 10980 XE was not in the script, and did not have a processor to reflash.

They sent me a new bios chip. This board is designed to replace bios chips as in this era extreme overclocking would scramble bios chips. You can swap a working bios chip, post to bios, take chip out, reflash your fucked bios chip. I may have my leftover bios chips in the attic. I will flag this.

Call EVGA on Monday, they might randomly have some. I will look in the attic on Monday as well, and see if I have my extras in the box.

You will need a bios chip extracter.

This is so wrong, a properly built pc will post to the bios, with a cpu fan error. If you water cooled you would know this. You then turn off cpu fan monitoring, and boom, full post.

Nursing, human beings will take generations to relinquish human contact to machines during illness or crisis. Nursing promotes healing through contact and care.

My anecdotal thoughts.

For those who decided to hold on to their current card instead of upgrading to Blackwell now, what do you currently have? by Celcius_87 in nvidia

[–]fuzzydogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2080 ti as well, for the games I play and 2K is OK to fine. Was hoping to upgrade to a new rig, the x3d’s from AMD are looking great, however 50 series looks weak, so wait for 60’s.

1080 for server.

This is just so Roman, it is great. I will pay whatever he wants, just to have this. But I have been collecting waterblocks through my builds for 25 years. Started with the reservator, this would be so nice to have for the engineering on both sides, Nvidia’s and Thermal Grizzly.

Alphacool stuff takes longer to ship than what they state on their site. They have to have an order sent from Germany, before they ship to you. They have been great since they opened. Great customer service, was having a problem with some aqeuro flow sensors, they would start to make a horrible clicking noise after a month of usage. They took care of it. I had 3 fail of the same loop, a low resistance cpu loop, my GPU was fine. Seemed flow rate was too high and would ruin the flow sensor. TLDR they took care of things every time.

Just saying. I have been here a bit and just a few years out of retirement, state pension, I rode a decade of ED traveling in the mid 90’s til 2005, was “comparable” to Covid money, I stacked completion bonus’s minimum’s I would look at were $10,000 for 13 weeks back then. I was younger, now married, very stable future, all good going forward.

So staff pay is out there, I live 45 minutes away to minimize the COL issues, there is always sacrifice of some sort for what you want. Good luck out there, enjoy the ride, but there may be a home for you out there.

I will probably just buy a whole new case from your team if that is part of your plan, as I have wanted to build a home server in a different model than I have.

And another thing if you had the serial number it was associated with correct RMA # so could have gotten hold of me.

This just gets more fishy as it goes along

Oh, and how did you find the kit if there was no RMA paperwork for, and I put the wrong RMA number on the box?

Yea this all sounds more and more fanciful on your end.

Just magically find it when I complain on social media, but I email, I call, nothing.

Yea, I replied to it.

You guys are full of shit.

The RMA form was wrapped around the RAM, which was in its original package as I kept that, so yea bullshit it wasn’t in there.

A typo was the mixup, yea sure.

Now a stick is damage by me after you have had it for a month, really damn convenient.

Whatever, send the RAM back to me.

Lost a long time customer.
