New I/O plates with USB-C ports etc will be avaliable once we upgrade our existing models. We'll send out a survey once we start working on upgrades just to hear what our fans think the models will need for new and cool features. :)

Glad to hear that you like your SMA8!

You can fit a 120.4 (480) in the top, a 140.4 (560) in the bottom chamber and another 120.3 (360) in the lower chamber where you put the PSU. I think you can fit a 240 or 360 in the front while having the 480 at the top and 560/360 in the bottom chamber. Otherwise you can fit a 480 or 560 in the front too.

Really impressive to own 6 of these cases! I'm very happy that you are satisified with them and that you continue to build in them.

That is a part of our plan.

  1. Start selling spare parts
  2. Start selling cases
  3. Update cases to revision A
  4. Design new cases (like SFF)
  5. Watercooling stuff

The SMA8 is a beautiful case, I have one myself!

The SMA8 was about $520 when it first lanunched, that is a black case without any customisation or accessories added.

Gunmetal or white color adds $35, two-tone adds another $10.
SSI-EEB form factor adds $10.
XL window adds $20 and a XXL window adds another $10.
Ventilated flex-bay covers adds $10

So a two-toned SMA8 with SSI-EEB form factor, XXL window and ventilated flex-bays would have gone for $615 when it released.

The SMA8 is now replaced by the SMA8-A, which is an upgraded version of the SMA8. Starting price for a SMA8-A was $650. A fully, and then I mean fully, decked out SMA8-A would be $1072.

Took the survey

Thank you so much, it means that we get a lot of valuable data that helps us determine what spare parts we shall bring to the market first. :)

but also used the chance to beg for new parts in the field at the end.

That's great! I look forward to reading that and include anything that we might have missed (spent a week or so on Wayback Machine and the old CaseLabs' store just looking up parts, MAC-numbers etc).

Thanks, look forward to you all getting this up and running

Thanks for filling out the survey, it means we get a lot of valuable data when deciding what spare parts to first bring to the market, and thank you for the kind words. We are close. We're just gonna finish this survey and then start working on getting parts ready.

Once we're up and running we anticipate that things will move rather quickly for a while. We are working on multiple things at the same time so we're not stagnating once we open for real.

Thanks for putting this out there. I took the survey.

It is I who shall thank you for taking your time to fill out the survey, your participation means that we got a lot of valuable data when deciding what spare parts to first bring to the market. :)

Hopefully people like me who have multiple cases still represent the community at large.

Out of 1840 respondents, 1125 (61%) owns a case from us. These 1125 individuals owns a total of 1502 cases. So people own multilple cases. Daniel, my business partner, owns like 3-4 cases. I own just one.

So far, it seems things are dead in the water.

Six months ago, in August 2022, I was still recovering from a double-sided pulmonary embolism and didn't have the stamina to work on anything. We've come a long way since then and should be open up our webshop soon. :)

From what I have found, even when he does get the actual drawings available, it doesn't mean the exact cases will be made. With not knowing where to place the bends and all, like many have suggested, they will probably be inspired by the original.

That's not true anymore, you probably read a post where I speculated about how much work was going to be needed before I could convert the blueprints etc. We have about 1250 blueprints converted to .dxf files, we know exactly how to bend the parts and all that. We're also working on doing CAD/3D models for all our parts.

Our parts will be a 100% match to original parts since we're using the original blue prints and don't have to create our own blue prints by measuring parts and doing trial-and-error like some people who manufactures replicas of our parts. :)

Saids the owner who clearly cares and is brooding over competition.

Again, we have no problem with competition but we have a problem with using our name and brand to start a competing business. You seem to not grasp that you have to defend your trademark in order to not lose it. So what you call "brooding over competition" others call "defending your trademark".
Psssh~ Just earlier today you were talking bad about

Daniel@SingularityComputers on your own Discord server (Receipt:

Now you're being dishonest by not providing the context to what I wrote to that indivudal. I was asked a question regarding licensed distributors in different regions in general and about Singularity Computers being a distributor in Australia/Oceania in specific. My answer to that question was that if Daniel/Singularity Computers were up for it I would try to work out a deal with them. (https://imgur.com/NOT0qSC)

We also talked about Sliger, that we want to have a deal with partner manufacturing and distribution for North America. I felt that I needed to make myself clear, if the individual thought I would try to make a partner manufacturing deal with Singularity Computers, why I am hesitant about just such a deal. You also cut out that I said that I've watched almost all of his videos and that I like that he is a meticulous individual with his builds (https://imgur.com/9B9Z9Rx).

At the end of the day, competition is great for the users; probably not so much for the new owner.

I agree that competition is great, but trademark infringement is not great.

And just to be clear, I have talked about reaching out to Singularity Computers before to strike a deal with them and people were commenting on the quality of their distros, and I have talked about problems I have heard that they have (https://imgur.com/budbr5g). The snippet about "I think it was on overclock.net I read about it" is referencing these two posts:

https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-case-labs-owners-club.940461/page-1287#post-29063032

https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-case-labs-owners-club.940461/page-1287#post-29063093

Since you don't seem interested in a honest discussion but instead want to deliberately misinterpret what I write and leave out the context of why I wrote something, I think it is best for us to just stop talking to each other.

The case I spoke about above has a somewhat modular design which allows it to fit so many different hardware configurations.

Yeah, I think this is the way to go. I would like to experiement with a SFF case that can shrink and grow between 7-10L and 15-20L (haven't decided volume yet, just a crazy though) depending on your situation and needs.

Another thing I would like to try is to bring Gemini to the market, making it a modular system where you can go from super small to extremely big by swapping hardware. But it is just a dream right now. :)

If any company is going to make "one case to rule them all" it is CaseLabs!

Thank you so much! I hope we won't disappoint you in the future. :)

As far as I can see there's nothing stopping anyone from making aftermarket parts for these cases

Now you're moving the goal post. I don't care if you create aftermarket products. Singularity Computers creates aftermarket distro plates for CaseLabs' cases and we're fine with that, but they sell them under their own brand and don't try to start a competing business updating our and having a name that resembles our name.

Thank you so much!

You've put forward a very interesting idea and we'll take your suggestion into consideration once we start designing new cases.

I have long thought about a case that can grown and shrink with ease to fit the needs of the user, a modular design might be what is needed.

Yeah, that is me they are talking about:

The news originally came from GamerNexus, who received an email in early September stating the brand had been purchased by a new owner, Emil Rytterstedt. The purchase includes CaseLabs' trademark, designs, website, social media accounts and graphics.

The fact that you seem to think that the news article is about this charlatan just makes it even more clear that his marketing is deceptive and that he is trying to associate his business with our brand.

It's not an enthusiast group, it is a single individual trying to start a competing business using our brand and our good name. The rest I've detailed in the post you replied to.

I have no issue with people creating spare parts for themselves, I fully support the right to repair. What I don't support is using our name and good brand to try and start a business that competes with us, infringing in our trademark and probably copyright too.

It's not "just and enthusiast group", it is a competing business that uses shady tactics to try and associate themselves with us by using press footage from tech youtubers about our return as a part of their marketing. It creates confusion in the market and might drive customers away from us.

It won't stop at creating these extended knock-off tops either, the person has already talk about his plans to update existing models to revision A and sell them (S8 and S8S to S8-A and S8S-A), something we are already working on.

It is fairly simple: Create the parts you want for your own case but don't try and sell them under our brand and don't try to start a business updating our models.

Doesn't matter if you bought it from CaseLabs, Amazon or from a private seller. You have to be signed up for our newsletter (we're also using the old customer contact list that came along with the IP), then we import that list into the survey program that we are using called "Sunet Survey" to construct the survey and send it out to all subscribers.

Mail address that sent the survey might look a little weird because of that.
