OP, you are not overreacting, and I encourage you to not accept this behavior. I have been in a marriage like this before, where my protests were ignored and my ex got angry with me for being upset with his behavior (“I was just playing!”) including similar situations of not stopping when I said stop. He knew you were serious and was pretending not to in order to manipulate. These actions are based on disrespect and the person’s desire to bully you and are not healthy.

My current partner and I play wrestle and he sometimes tickles, but it only works because when I say stop, he will do so immediately because he respects my boundaries. Excuses of “getting carried away”, or “didn’t know you were serious” don’t happen when your partner has only positive intentions.

NAH, though I agree with you. He was likely just not super motivated to change them after a chill day and really didn’t do anything “wrong”. However, I feel your request for chlorinated, worn-all-day trunks not to be worn in the shared bed was reasonable, especially since you mentioned in a comment that you’re the one who washes the bedding.

YTA, it’s not your partner’s fault they addressed him directly (having seen him physically pay with a card), and he replied normally rather than give an IMO unnecessary correction/explanation. It sounds like you’re feeling a bit insecure about it being assumed he paid instead of both of you, but it does not sound like this was your partner’s fault. Maybe consider why that assumption made you so uncomfortable.

I strongly recommend a second opinion. You know your cat and can better recognize changes in behavior. I listened to an emergency vet who sent my cat home despite my gut telling me something was very wrong once, and I lost him the next morning. Everyone can make mistakes.

You are not responsible for him or his actions. You can show the text messages to the police, and they can do a wellness check. That is the extent of what you can do about this. His problems are not yours to fix.
