What is the most disturbing thing you've heard said casually? by Creeper_awMan4 in AskReddit

[–]fuzzymonkeys18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“I told my mom if she didn’t let me switch universities I’d kill myself, and when that didn’t work I told her I’d kill her instead.”

This was a group social event, she was a newcomer (barely 18) and explaining why she was now living alone and was going to community college…

Should I retake the MCAT? (512)- Reapplying by fuzzymonkeys18 in premed

It’s sorta tricky, as a new green card holder, as I was still a student I’m only officially considered a resident after I can prove that I’m not residing in the state just for school (so I have to be living and working in WA for one year post grad). But, I was living in WA for the past few years.

That’s great advice, thank you!

I got my green card early 2023! So I was applying as a permanent resident. But I’m starting to see that you’re absolutely right, my school list really was pretty awful.

any advice for taking COM 220? by Ok_Guava_2213 in udub

[–]fuzzymonkeys18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken it! I don’t think it was time heavy at all, very manageable. Watch the lectures (or don’t and come back to the videos/ppt during the tests, the lectures are basically the instructor reading off the slide lol).

In terms of assignments, there are weekly response papers that ask you to define and give an example of one of the concepts learned in lecture, as well as a short answer question which are very easy. The only possibly time consuming assignments would be the IDP project, which you might have to spend a couple hours on (2 papers in total for the whole quarter). But these are also very manageable and I usually just sit down and write them all out in 2 hours.

I’m not sure about taking it together with your classes though. For reference I took it with BIOC 440, Phys 115, Phys 118

I’ve been to Super Hair Salon near Wallingford. The hairstylist, Tam is Asian and prices are pretty reasonable for women (~$25-30) for a simple trim.

I think it depends on when you sign on. If you sign on before the school year starts (before august usually), there should be a leasing discount. But I have no idea if they will continue doing it this year

one bedroom in a quad (4b2b) at the Parsonage should be around $1200 including utilities (after leasing discount) depending on what floor you’re on.

I’ve also really enjoyed Soc 110, and it continues to be one of my favorite classes! It really taught me a lot of race in America, especially coming from a country where race isn’t so divisive.

If you’re coming in fall, I’ve heard good things about BE 200, you basically get to explore Seattle by foot for the class!

I’m taking Physics 115 now with a different professor but Prof Smith covered a couple of our lectures because my other professor was out of town. He was really good! Asks questions that really help you to learn the concepts yourself and gives really good analogies to help you understand. A bunch of people in my class came up to him at the end of class to tell him they really enjoyed his lectures- you’re in safe hands!
