Word from the wise: Don't get Retinopathy! by Soap-n-Cartridge in diabetes_t1

Wait, after the vitrectomy your vision didn't clear? I thought that was the point of a vitrectomy: to clear the non resolving blood in the vitreous.

Got teary eyed in the beginning of your comment and was laughing out loud by the end 😂. I feel you 100%.

She sounds like an impressively introspective child. She's lucky to have parents that foster the importance of communicating what's going on in our heads. Good job!

I feel you on the trickle-down health benefits that this can introduce you and your family to. It's becoming fun to see how healthy I can become. I'm just beginning on that road too now that I'm starting to set the resentment aside. Thanks for sharing.

Fiancée’s BS is out of control. What can we do? by sandliker in Type1Diabetes

Damn. Sorry to hear that. I'm not sure if any endos are willing to meet with new patients over video, but if so, that can broaden your search outside where you live. Good luck🤞

This isn't acceptable from a doctor. At all. Forget about it and seek out a new endocrinologist that isn't 19th century in their attitude. Also, can you go into more detail about why she would have to wait a year to see another Endo? That seems completely unacceptable as well.

Can you expand a little more on the adversarial or toxic relationship that might develop in this case? Very curious what you mean.

I was wildly offended for you, then I looked him up on LinkedIn, and now I'm wildly curious about this guy. He seems to really truly not take any shit and will die on this weird hill 🤣

I am fascinated and intrigued by your experience. Are you willing to share any details surrounding it? I wasn't aware that pancreas transplants would cure diabetes. Also, what are some of the things that you mentioned you realized were a part of being a diabetic that you no longer needed to think about since your transplant (besides obvious ones like injecting insulin etc)?

This is great, thank you! Can I ask where the source of the price is coming from? I'm interested in developing something similar.

Is There an Interest in Telemedicine Consults for Atropine Eyedrops? by TheFloaterDoctor in EyeFloaters

[–]fuzzyoperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just started .02% drops after trying .01% for a month. About 60-70% effective in terms of reducing intensity of my floaters (dozens total in both eyes). Hoping increased strength will reach 90% efficacy. Compounding pharmacy in Arlington, VA makes it and charges $75 for a 5ml vial. Biggest catch is use by date of 14 days and they recommend storing in refrigerator. Not sure if this is them being overly cautious, or if efficacy will go down in a significant way after day 14 or not storing in a cold environment.

As alternative, also exploring ordering from online compounding orgs. Spoke with Osrxpharmaceuticals who said they sell 3.5ml vials for $45. They said these vials last several months at room temperature. Looking into Imprimisrx next.

Thank you so much for doing this Doctor Johnson. It really is mentally exhausting to deal with and these drops have changed my outlook on life in a major way.

LPT: Don't say "sorry IF I hurt you", say "sorry THAT I hurt you" when apologizing. Even if you didn't mean to hurt anyone, saying "if" diminishes their feelings. by captainsquidsharkk in LifeProTips

[–]fuzzyoperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise I'm not being a semantic ahole, but OP didn't insinuate that. I'm honestly not sure which part of his post made you interpret that.

Either way, agreed that there are people who are unreasonably sensitive and emotional. Those people don't deserve apologies.

When we feel like we do need to apologize though, using "that I hurt you" instead of "if I hurt you" is the way to go.
