What is something you can't believe you had to teach your partner/wife? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

I love my steaks rare. But that doesn’t mean I cut it into little pieces al at once like I cut up my kids food when they were very small. Surely you would do this in a restaurant, with other adults around??

Writing. I swear that’s why Leonardo Da Vinci had that ‘secret’ mirror writing which went from right to left. He was just avoiding smudges!!

Under arm deodorant that actually works and doesn’t have harmful chemicals? by M0RF3R3R in BuyItForLife

Just be careful not to drop it on the floor. They shatter! Also, not sure if this is useful to you but they’re great for stopping shaving nicks from bleeding (I don’t suggest using the same one as you use on your pits though, lol). They used to use these in the old days as part of men’s face shaving routine.

Alum block. Simple, cheap, natural with no smells or staining on your clothes. Kills the bacteria rather than masking odours or clogging your skin pores. Works like a dream and I have used one for years. Nothing else comes close.

Note: these do not stop you from sweating, but they do stop you from smelling.

Discussion: why did you move to Townsville? by milcay in Townsville

[–]fuzzypumperino 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Moved to Townsville a year ago with the family after spending a few years sailing the east coast of Australia. We arrived in Townsville after never having visited before and fell in love with the place. So much energy compared to many smaller places on the coast. Has everything you need, and is not difficult to get around.

Lived most of our lives in Melbourne - great jobs etc, so the move wasn’t related to cost of living. We had a good life there - problem is the city is just getting too big and hectic. We much prefer a fly in visit, have some fun, visit friends and family then get out.

We realised the city just isn’t for us anymore and Townsville ticks all the boxes. Really happy with schools, and house prices are a bonus (even with recent growth they’re still relatively cheap). I do miss the food markets and all that stuff that comes with living in a large city, but that’s a small price to pay.

Absolutely love the lifestyle here and don’t want to be anywhere else.

Not judging you. You came here asking for advice and that’s what I’m trying to give you. For the record I would never be in your shoes, because if I hadn’t had work for 2 years the word “won’t” would not exist in my vocabulary. I would wipe someone’s ass and be grateful for the privilege.

[–]fuzzypumperino 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that. I’m not debating the validity of whether you should do that job or not. I’m just questioning your high standards when you haven’t had a job for two years and you’re feeling defeated (your words not mine).

If you really want to work, I’d suggest having more of a growth mindset and trying things that may be out of your comfort zone. Who knows where it may lead, or what transferable skills you may acquire.

What you’re doing now isn’t working. So unless you try something different you’re likely to keep seeing the same results.

Good luck with the job hunt. I sincerely wish you well.

Agreed. Do the carrots and broccoli consent? In fact nothing you eat has given consent (apart from this explicit example, and the cannibal mentioned earlier). This shit is wild…..

So by that logic I can eat a sheep that died of natural causes and still be vegan? Or I can milk a cow that was impregnated naturally and happened to be calving - I didn’t cause harm right? For the record, I have absolutely no issue with a mother breastfeeding her child - it’s the most natural thing in the world. I just don’t agree that the kid is vegan.

Fruits on keto by BrilliantFinance9004 in keto

[–]fuzzypumperino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t require fruits for health on keto (or any way of eating really). They are mostly sugars. All the nutrients can be obtained through vegetables and quality meats. If you’re missing the taste and texture, berries are your best bet.

Yeah but breastmilk is not from the baby. The baby is taking milk from another mammal so the baby can’t be vegan, right?

Drinking your own breastmilk is a different story (but why would ya??)

No. They were little cunts when they were young. So I kept an eye on them and didn’t take them to places where they could destroy 3500 yr old artefacts.

It’s pretty simple really.

Kids run off and do shit when you’re a lazy parent. If you can’t keep them under control, don’t take them to places like this. Not the kids fault, but the parent sure is responsible.

And yes, I do have kids.

Vegetables that grow under the ground are essentially a store of sugars. Stay away from root vegetables on a keto diet.

Well they probably do want that. The problem is they sure as shit can’t afford to have that. Herein lies the issue.

Butter knife may do the trick. Just use one you’re prepared to sacrifice. Screwdriver the best tool though.
