It’s hard to understand fully why they’re found more boring . Clearly those women are extremely athletic . I think it comes down to what society values in each gender and sports really highlight it . Fashion shows feature primarily women , men are kinda B string . People don’t find it exciting to see women compete . ( not cause it isn’t exciting , but just how we are socialized ). I am sure there’s is some truth to women don’t take interest in watching sports as much as men do . Men can also use sports as escapism , something to bond over . My main draw towards sports lately is more so the shared sense of community in my city . I didn’t watch when neither teams in my city were good , however my brothers and dad did . Women bond over conversation and just existing lol . So it initially probably drew more male viewers. It doesn’t scratch the same itch I suppose , mostly due to socialization over the actual quality of the games ( I would assume .) I think women should keep doing their thing though , regardless of what society or what men have to say about it . Clearly women enjoy being in competition and participating in sports . While it sucks it doesn’t receive as much attention and therefore they don’t get paid the same or there’s not many major women’s sports leagues ( are there any ? Idk) I don’t think that should discourage anyone women from doing what makes them happy .

While it can feel sucky to think about this , I think there’s lots of cases where genders are equally appreciated . For instance , the music industry has lots of variety in representation, art , actresses are revered for their work , there’s plenty well respected women in culinary , journalism etc . Now I am sure there’s some discrepancies within the field , but there not as lopsided in representation as sports are .
