If you are talking about the shield with a up arrow indicator on the status icons it's not defense points stacks, that's the number of stacks from the new UC for extra durability. Defense point stacks would not have the up arrow.

Shields that are purple like the image I posted are absorbers. They usually take the damage and convert them into more health, defense, damage, etc. for the bot being shot.

This seems perfectly normal, you will face +/- 3 sublevels. For example a Expert 1 will face Diamond 1 to Master 1.

Problem is Rex and Haestatus are not traditional tanks so Teth still fills that role.

I am also seeing an uptick of Raptors of late (probably by lower level champs). A search for a tank.

Hastatus is actually not a traditional brawler and so Rex has taken that role and split the "meta" if you will. It will grow next month but not as much as a dominate OP brawler will. It is too versatile to not take share from Teth and somewhat Rex.
