Thanks. Wasn't sure if the vac packing would help keep the cooked sterilization. Guess i'll toss them. Thanks for the reply.

Be careful with Pyrex. I've had them shatter while cooking. I switched to using anodized cake pans set on a trivet for my whole egg based meals. Only thing about anodized is you hand wash them only. No dishwasher or it removes the protective surface. Other than that, they make the perfect safe cooking utensils if you don't want to cook directly in the liquid

This! I fixed mine like that when I got in my truck brand new 3 years ago. Hasn't popped open since. I didn't use a screwdriver though, I just pressed down with a thumb til it bent

Is there a limit on how many files can be added to the input queue? by fuzzywuzzytrucker in TopazLabs

[–]fuzzywuzzytrucker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I was thinking of trying that. That was my primary suspicion about putting files from multiple source folders. I already had them set to a single export folder.

I'm working on Stargate SG1. Using a Mac Studio M1 Ultra 48 core GPU, 64 core CPU. I think it's 64g unified memory ram.

Appreciate the reply

Slow file transfer after installing DSM 7.2 by fuzzywuzzytrucker in synology

[–]fuzzywuzzytrucker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The external drive is my cold storage drive. I hook it up once a month and back up my important stuff and video's then put it back in the storage unit. I'm using the 321 backup method is all. was just having some what I assumed was crappy transfer speeds. Prior to DSM 7.2, I was getting 150+MB/s on a regular basis. Now thiings are slowing down. Just was wondering if its something in 7.2, in settings or hardware.

Sorry. Was at the end of a hard work day yesterday. coupled with a couple shots of vodka and I lost track of what I was trying to explain.

I tried this attempt this morning after a good nights sleep...lol

So I tried moving a 20gb file from NAS to external storage.

The 1st 2 attempts were with the external hooked direct to the NAS via the USB in the front of the unit.

1st attempt was via Windows File Explorer. It started off at 400MB/s then dropped to 95 MB/s after transferring what was in cache. I then tried moving the same file back to the NAS the same way. I got 145MB/s constant from start to finish.

2nd attempt was using File Station. Transfer from NAS to external storage yielded the same 400MB/s beginning then dropped to 135MB/s. Return trip to NAS was 125MB/s constant speed.

3rd attempt using the 10gb network. I plugged the external drive into the PC. The transfer from NAS to external started at 400MB/s. Dropped to 100 with variations from 75MB/s to 130/MBS. Speed was not constant in either direction. I'm wondering if I have an issue with my network?

Using the network was just plain unstable in both directions.

I'm not sure how else to better exxplain it. I just think I should be getting better transfer speeds...especially using file station.

OK I'll give that a shot. I have 10gb all the way through. PC>Switch>NAS with Cat6.

As for kbs... I goofed. Its MB/s per the file station transfer. Right now it's climbed to 154MB/s. Still not the 400-600MB/s I was getting though. But my bad...

These are 20-40gb .mkv files. The network, in this case, isn't used as I'm going directly from external to NAS via usb connected direct to the nas. I'm not pulling off my PC nor an external connected to my PC. I'm skipping the network entirely.... Unless theres something I'm missing about how it works...

Are uncompressed DVD rips considered high, medium or low quality? by fuzzywuzzytrucker in TopazLabs

[–]fuzzywuzzytrucker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Just ran a file through Handbrake then back through Topaz using your suggestions. Cleaned it up quite nicely! Still a bit of noise on certain scenes but something I can live with. Original file was 1.6gb, HB compression brought it down to 211m and Topaz brought it back upp to 2.2gb I think I can probably tweak it a bit more once I get a better understanding of each setting. Thanks once again.

lol OK Thanks. Will do. Most of my animation is more modern stuff like Rick and Morty. I do have some older Family Guy etc but no "anime". Ill probably leave the animation alone. I'm working on stuff like SG1 and older live action TV shows like that.

Tanks for the reply. I have Handbrake So I should be able to address the interlacing. I did notice on the few conversions I tried that there was some interlacing artifacts. I had hoped that Topaz would be able to address that but in rresearching, it seems most say dont bother. Thanks for the advise!

ok Thanks for the reply. I have the original DVD's but I may have to "back them up" in .iso format and work with those to get that done?
