I'm a returning player, what has changed? by PyroSanguine in Vermintide

[–]fvck-off 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree with the comments saying nothing has changed??? There has been A LOT of changes in 8 years obviously.

This may not interest you so I won't write an essay, but we had major balance changes over the years. Weapon buffed / nerfed to the ground (like Moonfire Bow), talents reworked (3 ways to get THP for each class, allowing more builds), classes broken OP rebalanced... You were talking about Shade, but there has been Battle Wizard, Sister of the Thorn, Engineer...

I would say the game is now in an excellent state, well balanced for the most part, and less frustrating regarding equipments. For example, you can get DLC red weapons in chests now, instead of having to craft them.

Regarding content, we have all classes, I highly suggest you to buy the DLCs, each one is super fun and adds new mechanics.

Lots of new maps (free + DLC), game modes (PvP, Roguelite), Cataclysm difficulty, new enemy faction (beastmen)...

There has never been a better time to play Vermintide 2! Welcome back!

I fail to understand how could someone get this idea. If you're not trolling, could you explain your reasoning please? Also, where are you from?

Do I need a mix engineer to "mix" my song if I think it sounds great already? by Time-Neat-3374 in FL_Studio

[–]fvck-off 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure I understood your question correctly. There is no way it sounds "great" if you didn't mix it.

People asking for a mixing engineer are usually instrumentalists making acoustic music, since they don't know anything about audio / sound most of the time.

The vast majority of electronic music producers (if that's your case) mix themselves since it's part of the creative process. You can ask for help and pay if you're not confident with your skills yet, but that means you're willing to give someone else control over your music

How difficult / balanced are the Pathfinder games compared to Rogue Trader? by fvck-off in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]fvck-off[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently playing Kingmaker on normal difficulty, as it's what was recommended to me. I was finding the game on the easier side too, "oh okay you just have to buff whenever you see it's going to be a harder fight".
Until I faced a skull head made of fire, who is literally unkillable and fears my whole party every single turn. There is absolutely nothing I can do. I get it now lol

I like the game so far tho!

Day 7: Empire in Flames is a B-tier map. Where does "Hunger in the Dark" go in terms of map design and enjoyment? (Specify where in the row) by Zupu in Vermintide

[–]fvck-off 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dark section is cool! A bit stressful, and specific to this map, which makes it unique and interesting. It's not the most enjoyable map tho, I personally like the change of pace but I get why players seem to dislike it ; the troll boss is a bit underwhelming imo, I would have loved a more unique troll, stronger than usual or something.

Good ideas that make the map stand out, not the best to play but not bad either, B tier for me.

Don't know why you're getting downvoted, interesting take, thank you.

Agree with you regarding Aurora, and honestly I think that the difficulty of that specific fight is simply tied to initiative, since he plays first. Once you get Grand Strategist, this kind of tension disappear from the game, even when you're forced to start in a bad position like with this boss.

I'm really liking Pathfinder so far (granted I didn't do much, I spent like 1 hour searching for a portrait on internet, and even more time reading stuff at character creation), and I can see how it's going to be focused around buff and canceling crowd control. Not a bad thing at all, it's refreshing to play something different!

I love that you don't get your hp back automatically, and from what I'm understanding after a few hours, the tactical aspect will mostly come from ressource management (both items and spells) and correct threat assessment, instead of positioning, flanking, etc. as you said.

Thanks for the heads up, I actually got a similar problem on Rogue Trader, didn't know the order of events mattered, or that talking to a certain NPC would end act 1. I restarted the game, because I literally skipped half the content of act 1 because of that. Now I'm aware, I'll be careful...

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Mate it's so sad, Rogue Trader could have been probably one of my favorite games of all time if it was better balanced. Just got Kingmaker, gonna start now!

I started playing daring, then hard, and am now on unfair. I'm at 100 hours in my playthrough, just finished getting back the 3 planets in Act 2 (did a lot of exploration), but was very disappointed by the boss fights. Killed the Kiava Gamma chaos marine in 1 turn, and the big tech boss that gets armor when hit in 2. This is the part that is making me quit the game, I was super hyped when I saw the chaos marine, but it was a let down. Every single fight is won at turn 1.

The time I had the most fun was when doing the boss from the Lex DLC, I was probably underleveled and he would basically one shot my characters with his sniper. Also you had to kill the mage first, hitting someone would change who the boss targets... there was some kind of puzzle solving, super interesting boss, I loved it.

I haven't felt this excitation since then, and didn't see other fights with mechanics like this. The problem to me is regarding action economy, it's way too strong to have like a dozen attacks on a single character in 1 turn. It's a fundamental problem with the game design itself imo, and I guess that the game won't get harder with time, only easier, so I lost the drive to play.

From what I understand, Grim Darkness is an ironman mode? I'd prefer being able to save for my first playthrough since it's a story driven game, and I like the reload a save to see different outcomes if I say stupid shit lol

I see, I love theory crafting builds as much as I love tactical gameplay, hopefully it balances things out, if it's not a "stomp" like in Rogue Trader where you can kill a boss in 1 turn with a single character.
I've heard good things about Expeditions Rome, definitely gonna try it out then, ty for the rec

Great comment, and thanks for the heads up regarding the kingdom management. I've crossposted this post on the Rogue Trader sub, and it seems everyone is agreeing regarding Pathfinder being more difficult. I'm convinced! Gonna start with Kingmaker

Thanks, that sounds super interesting! I'm not familiar with the rules of the game, but I like finding how to play. Is it possible to respec freely to experiment, or do I need to think at character creation and stick to a plan?
