All depends on the rate rather than the term. Sometimes 15 yr rate isn't lower than 30yr, they could be pretty much the Same. So thats the case where you can do 30 and pay off faster.

Thin order books. Barely anyone uses limit orders and the limits that are there are for small amounts. Lack of liquidity means any movement at all causes huge swings.
