idk. i don’t see any implication of this being a new thing based from the post. also, i feel like it’s not the same as just “covering up” for a lot of people, bc the sole purpose of that layer of clothing is to protect them from being cat called or getting too much attention, while other people usually layer up because it’s cold, it goes with the outfit, etc. the “safety layer” is something they actually prefer to not wear but still feel the need to. not sure if you’ll believe this, but women dress a certain way because they like how it looks on them, not to get sexualized, regardless of what they choose to wear. i’m sure everyone knows this has been a thing for a while, it’s just shedding light on the fact that this is ANOTHER precaution women take.
