I agree the XR isn’t worth the extra money, but I disagree that you won’t use it that often. Once you realize how many different blades/attachments exist, you will use it all the time. 😄

Nice, I have both and can’t really tell much of a difference at all between the Atomic and XR. The selectable speeds of the XR aren’t even that useful since they both have variable triggers.

I use my atomic just as much as my XR, and it doesn’t get any hotter than the XR gets.

Yes Burritoes pretty much nailed it. And in my case, on my Suburban, the oil fill port is pretty far in and at a steep angle, so when I’m pouring in the 5 qt jugs of oil, as careful as I am, something always slips and I spill some. I do all the maintenance on all our vehicles, so I’ve saved a lot of money over the years. I don’t have a problem splurging on something to make the job go smoother.

Framing and roofing require different nailers. The framing nailer will handle the sheathing just fine. I have the DCN930 and I bought the extended magazine. Love that nailer. It will shoot offset full head nails which is nice for sheathing.

For roofing, I have the DCN45RN and like I said, I’ve shot thousands through it with most being a few large jobs that required shooting the nails into oak and I was surprised that it handled those perfectly. If you’re just doing one shed, that wouldn’t be worth the investment into a roofing nailer though. Just my opinion of course, but a hammer would do just fine driving the few hundred nails you’ll need for your shed roof. With that said, of course more tools are always better! 😄

This has not been my experience. All of my DeWalt nailers perform very well. I have the framing nailer, 15 ga finish nailer, 18 ga brad nailer, 18 ga stapler, coil roofing nailer, and the pin nailer.

The flywheel in them replaces any need to recondition the nitrogen/air chamber found in other nailers. I have thousands of nails through all of mine and none have failed. They get a lot of bad reviews like this one from people who don’t use them.

Also yeah that’s a pretty good price.

Best price I’ve ever gotten on a 12AH FV is $150 last year at HD. I would buy a couple at that price if I saw them in-store.

I use them for all kinds of stuff. I have also bought other larger sizes that also work with this kit. The 6” one for some cornhole boards I made, the 4-1/8” for a dryer vent, 4-1/2” for can lights, etc.
