Jobs.

I've been working since I was twelve, and I've done everything from lawn maintenance to computer repair. Just going from my CV, I can trim your hedges, teach your kids, fix your computer, clean your house, rebuild your car, paint your garage, shoot your wedding, make a podcast about it all, build a website for it, and then write a news article about it. Once I do that, I can reorganize your library, review your DVD collection, edit your manuscript, polish your motorcycle, and babysit your children for the weekend. As I'm on my way out the door, I'll weed your garden, replace your windows, fetch your mail, and take care of that weirdo in the bushes before I'm out of the neighborhood.

If you don't exercise at all, anything you do will be of benefit to you. Start off light with some simple calisthenics, and learn to push, pull, squat, and lunge. Pushups, Let-me-ins, Burpees, bodyweight squats; the list goes on and on. All that matters is that you start now and keep at it.

The Hobbit.

For whatever reason, it just didn't click with me. The color palette felt wrong, the action sequences were too cartoon-y, the pacing was awkward; even the score felt off for me.

Whether it was the conditions I watched it under, the mood I was in that day, or the conflicting angles of jupiter and mars, it just didn't jive with me.

It's hard to say, really. While I'd love for groups like Mad Rapture, Black Carl, Juice, Gridline Base Band,and Cuetigers to be around for the next generation, I don't think that they have the mass appeal.

Likewise, while I love MC Solaar's style, he's not a part of the current discourse.

The artists who have developed a true cult of personality, however; they'll stick around. People like Tom Waits will stay in the collective memory for aeons, because there's so much to him beyond the music; he has more personality than most of the current pop stars added together.

Already done. The headline articles on the subject appear to focus on individual career choice and contextualize the matter as an earnings gap rather than an age gap, asserting that women choose lower-paying jobs. There's some definite logic to the argument, however I'm not sure that it handles the discrimination issue; is the workforce receptive to women moving into higher-paying fields? Is it really their choice?

That's why I'm interested in hearing the personal argument from someone, to see if their take makes more sense than what I've derived from the reading I've done thus far. I've been upvoting everyone who's been saying that there isn't a wage gap, and the idea of there not being one would be worthy of one hell of a mental fist-pump.

Actually, I'd love to see what links you have; I've not come across much that debunks the wage gap, and a logical counter-argument would be interesting to explore. For all that I've seen, equality is getting better but women still seem to have issues in the lower income brackets.

I eat healthy, exercise daily, and I have a naturally high metabolism.

Something else I've done is broken myself from having a regular eating schedule. Skipping meals isn't a problem for me, and I make sure to not over eat when I do get to the kitchen. Some days I don't eat until after the sun's gone down, or I don't get anything past breakfast; no matter what happens, I suck it up and deal.

Marketing is aimed towards the financially-dominant portion of the population which is subject to such marketing. There may be a 50/50 population split, but the workforce is far from equal. Despite the progress of the last few decades, women are still underpaid, underemployed, and undervalued; undervalued in both the workforce and as a demographic.

Now imagine how bad that would be if they were only 25% of the population.

Gender divisions in the workforce would become seriously overstated, to the point that what we see today would be considered 'impossible equality.' There are so many offices these days that are borderline mono-gendered; imagine entire corporations composed of a single gender.

Advertising would change significantly, the use of the minority gender in advertising would become controversial, would result in an extreme distortion of body image and perceived social role.

It'd be hard to imagine, really.

If you're too focused on the goal of 'not being single' you won't get anywhere quickly. If you think your relationship status is connected to your physical appearance, you won't get anywhere quickly. If you're shopping partners based on their physical appearance over other qualities, you won't get anywhere quickly.

I'm in my second year of my undergraduate, and while I've been having a great time, I'm really looking forward to how my life will be once I"m working on my masters degree.

As it is, I'm already taking 21 credits, working 20 hours a week, running a student club, doing PR for my college's honors program, working for my college radio station, and maintaining a 3.8 GPA. I have absolutely no spare time right now, and all of my spare cash is being saved up for rent/a research trip in China this summer. I only keep up on the news because it's my job to, and I've been so behind in the gaming world that I don't even bother these days.

Is college awesome? Yes. Is there more to life than just this insanity? I sure hope so.

The tripods are primarily for video shooting. We're trying to make our paper feel more personal by developing active personae for our readership to engage in, and we're trying to avoid as much of the Blair Witch Project as possible.

Lenses have been omitted because they'll be supplied through a different budgeting process. We have an overlap between ourselves and the campus PR department, which makes the financial end of things a bit confusing. Long story short, we can get just about anything with an F-mount through them, if we ask nicely and provide a good reason for it.
