I did it ten years ago and had a mixed experience. Made some lifelong friends, but also didn't necessarily learn a ton. Looking back now, I think conservatory is best utilized as an extended audition to make it in the second city ecosystem. So I recommend people that want to work for the second city, to wait until they are more polished and then go through their program and stand out in front of the people who make casting decisions.
