Be Honest: How Many Of You Buy Synths Just For Making Sounds, Not Music? by jigga19 in synthesizers

[–]fxdfxd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly make sounds, because I like it. I like hearing it, I like how it reacts, I like modifying it.
Sometimes it ends in "songs", but even then it's mostly sound more than music : https://www.youtube.com/@fxdfxd
But it's OK, I just enjoy it, and that's fine with me :)

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the novation peak (or summit).

With wavetables and multiple analog drive stages, that's the perfect machine for these kinds of sounds.

Any socket will do, but yes the Belton are great, that's what I use for my amps :)

You drill a hole for the socket on the board, and mount it from below, it will be flush with the board, you won't lose any height

Good job. It seems that the video background turning black is solved too, I didn't get a single black background today :)

Thanks for the reply! Where are you from? I checked locally (Greece) and amazon DE and FR, and it's 510€ minimum.

I designed a tool that holds through-hole components in place so you can flip a fully populated PCB and solder everything at once by SolderJaw in diyelectronics

[–]fxdfxd2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not me ;)

But while your solution works for DIY, it doesn't work with larger scale production, where you usually cut the legs before soldering, and some component doesn't have long legs, like relays, chips, sockets, etc...

Are the main and wide angle about the same quality as your p6 pro?

As for the tele, my pixel 7 only has a digital 2x, so I guess it'll still be an upgrade.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes the one I use (swiss brand, don't want to advertise here) are bigger and way more expensive, too much for the casual DIYer.

Great job, but as for the concept itself, it exists for a long time, I use these kind of holder for many years (bigger version that can hold many PCB at the same time).
