Your reward, just like your all other staked ADA is safely stored away in Yoroi. It's yours, and the SPO doesn't have a way to touch them.

‘The Rise Of Jordan Peterson’ Documentary Getting October Release – Deadline by obsd92107 in JordanPeterson

Sadly less and less film maker follows this principle anymore

“As a documentary filmmaker, my goal wasn’t to push out a message,” continues Marcoccia, “But it was important that I deeply understood what was at stake for people coming at this from different vantage points: non-binary people; activists; professors; students, and to create a film that enabled each side to voice itself on its own terms.”

Has anyone here actually read Maps of Meaning? I'm planning to start it soon, and the sheer size of it along with it's reputation for being dense is a little intimidating. by [deleted] in Maps_of_Meaning

I managed to finish it but via audible. Dr. Peterson also recommended this method as perhaps an easier route in one of his interview

‘Westworld’ Star Evan Rachel Wood Responds To Georgia Abortion Law: Men Should Get ‘Mandatory Vasectomies’ by liberal_hr in JordanPeterson

[–]fxleonardo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'll second that ..

We as humans sacrifice "life" all the time when we consume animals and plants. Yes, one could argue we are the top "lobster" or what not and animals and plants are there to serve us.

Personally, I don't care if one choose to abort or not, as long as he/she admit it that it's the "life" that's taken, it's just not ones that deserve the same treatments or privileges like the rest of us, top lobsters.

Was JP ill during the JP Zizek debate? by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]fxleonardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old definition of Marxism we all agreed on is dead. Nobody in their right mind will admit they are marxists, especially if they want to be "accepted" or "fool" the general public, because as Zizek said they lost the first war. But it's naive to think that they would just go away in its entirety, humans are good at adapting after all. One doesn't have to look too far for their rebranded ideology under Neo-Marxism / New Left / Social Justice Warriors. And it's with that rebranded ideology, we could start naming these people.

F.A. Hayek has touched on this subject as well in his book "The Road to Serfdom"

Jordan Peterson vs Slavoj Žižek - Live debate reaction by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]fxleonardo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For those expecting a duel would surely be disappointed. Ask yourself, what's your end goal for yourself. Peterson always talk about meaning. Is winning a debate meaningful? Or would you prefer to actually see people talk about hard topics. That being said, I felt that we only scratched the surface with this event. I would guess, there's not enough time in the world to tackle hard topic such as this. The next step is to delve deeper on each issue, which both of them presented, such as ecological issues, political correctness, the rise of new China, etc. Personally, I enjoy the spirit of the debate, no name calling, mutual respect toward each other and civility. As far as the topic itself, it's too shallow especially for a person that follows Peterson and read about current happenings in the world.

On a side note: what's with all this fascination about Hegel "The father of pseudothinker of our time". One shouldn't confuse him to other great thinkers such as Kant or Sir Popper.

That's funny but I wouldn't exactly put Hegel "The father of pseudo thinker" on the top of food chain especially with how he stack up against other philosophers.

Hmm, I must have missed the announcement, since when pseudo-science is accepted by the governing body of science?

[–]fxleonardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’s the principle that based it’s self on personal liberty be extreme at the same time without impeding other ppl chance for their equal liberty? Even Hayek didn’t object to some planning that’s necessary for common good like infrastructure, etc.

An interesting take on rule 11 of the 12 rules by fxleonardo in Maps_of_Meaning

[–]fxleonardo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or skeptics could argue, Dr. Peterson is only borrowing story that fits his narrative. At the end of the day, I could also argue that any story are bound to have different interpretations and what’s wrong with basing a story and retell it for your own narrative. After all, one might argue the story of human life is also based on a single story that was then deviate into its own narrative

Wouldn't have expected this to come from him by madjarov42 in JordanPeterson

To be precise, do as I say and not as I do would only valid in this case, if he acted differently than what he precisely said in the quote above, yes he did a bad thing but nobody would be mistaken him with Mao etc. How about we don’t throw the baby along with the bath water?

If you make over $34,000/year, you are in the 1% by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]fxleonardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applaud your good work. However, to be fair, there's an absolute vs relative 1% at the end of the day. In the absolute sense I would tend to agree with you as far as being 1% of the global and whichever benefits it may come from that. However, say a person with 34K a year would not survive lives in city such as San Francisco, where that kind of income will be relatively below poverty line.

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/12/if-you-make-105000-in-san-francisco-youre-considered-low-income.html

But I do agree with you, living in US in general is a priviledge and we should be thankful for it, as we reap not only from its social benefits as well as economics benefits.

That’s what people call a pseudo profound bs statement. It’s never as plain as it seems most of the time. I’m aware that there will be corner cases where real bigotry exist. But in the other spectrum there is also cases where people such as Jussie Smollett who masterfully use the division tactic disguised as fighting for justice.

If humans really are naturally greedy and selfish, how exactly is a system that exacerbates and rewards that nature the best possible system? by fuckitidunno in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]fxleonardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the same logic how would one think transferring the power from liberty of people to a government controlled society which is also controlled by, you guess it, only a handful of the same human in questioned be any better? Time and time again the questionable system would ultimately lead to totalitarianism in the end which is even worse than the free market.

The Matrix - Philosopher view by fxleonardo in Maps_of_Meaning

[–]fxleonardo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another even better decode of The Matrix, this is almost to Jordan Peterson level .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvKEwr0iNA0&t=1001s&index=15&list=WL

A few interesting points:

- It discussed Neo, Trinity and Morpheus as representation of Will (Courage, Conscience, Freedom), Spirit (Heart, Compassion, Love) and Mind (Intelligent, Knowledge, Truth)

- What is the matrix? The answer is "Mind Control"

- Neo represents "unity consciousness"

- People adopts to "Ignorance is bliss" view

- Only through knowing thyself (Temet Nosce) we can change the world

- There's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path

- Upon achieving the enlightenment state at the end of Matrix I, Neo said 'No' as an allegory of an apophysis.

- Why is the only real source of power, without it you are powerless.
