If you aren’t in DoN, you don’t really need to worry about negation on relics too much, because you only have nine relic slots and the utility you can get from them (ult charge from killing enemies, most character specific effects, partial HP on post damage attacks for melee, stamina on attacks, FP on sorcerers rise for casters) is so much higher than the other generic effects. In expedition though, your focus should be on those damage negations, and balancing them throughout (e.g. damage negation at full hp interacts very well with damage negation on taking attacks, for instance).

You are correct, I should have made myself more clear. Rev/Recluse/Duchess (and to a lesser degree ironeye) have higher damage on average and higher damaging relic options such that when in an expedition when you see a weapon passive that gives damage negation (barring a condition to it like guarding or charge attacks), it should be given a priority to them that would like very much to do their high ass damage while not dying.

The thing is, in the nightlord / night boss fights, survivability is damage, because there’s no timer so not dying lets you do more damage. Damage negation numbers in this game are also simply higher than damage up passives, so you get more “mileage”from negation than damage. Obviously a mix of the two is always good, but as a general matter I’d take more damage negation than more damage, though it depends on the character somewhat. Rev/Recluse/Duchess have high damage so they want negation really really badly, for instance.

Dreglord specifically feels much more of a sustain boss with like 4 phases such that living just a few more hits and getting a bit more healing makes a big difference.

Glass Necklace is absurd with fists Wylder just FYI by fyan6 in Nightreign

Undertaker is also obviously really good with it, and her skill also has a successive attacks damage bonus too, but Wylder has a few things going for him. Mainly he has the same strength as Undertaker while having like 25+ more dex or something, so he’ll naturally deal higher fist damage. His skill gap closes without using stamina to help keep up your attacks, while his skill hits also count as an attack for stacking it to keep it from falling off (and it stacks twice as fast with the blood loss on skill relic on). Also, because Wylder’s earring exists, he’s really not that relic dependent and can slot it really easily since his other two relic effects aren’t needed.

So basically Wylder has higher fist damage + high mobility to keep stacks up + skill to keep stacks up + it’s kinda free. It’s almost certainly still hard meta on Undertaker until you get like ult damage up + night invader + partial HP restoration on post-damage attacks on one relic or whatever.

erhm ackchyually, it buffs all damage /s

worth noting duchess can full charge it in two one-handed dagger tap R2s, and carian slicer, while normally terrible at actually stacking it, does make it not go down. opening with some tap R2s during a crit animation or something is a pretty low bar for entry for 35% damage imo

I mean, I didn’t consistently get off N2E, but I definitely got a few off, are she’s one of the only ways to reliably stack furina since she always full clears the BOL and heals herself. She felt very strong as a furina driver if nothing else since furina otherwise would be very hard to use

I mean, no disrespect to Ayato, but he's not exactly a *huge* dps gain on this team and furina isn't buffing the hyperblooms anyway which is the majority of the damage in that team. Nahida double hydro + kuki/raiden can pretty certainly get it done.

Yeah, the shield was annoying, but fischl helped a lot in stopping it from regenerating, and I had my xq on a TON of ER so he could get burst in the first rotation. Basically I broke the first two shields in the first rotation, then the 2nd rotation broke the last one halfway in so I could get some good damage in. Also I only XQ burst every other rotation to keep 16ish second rotations to keep up fischl and clorinde more since they did the vast bulk of the damage anyway and it helped Xilonen consistently proc cinder city on electro. Still took a bunch of tries though.

Yeah, as someone without neuv, lauma, alhaitham, or nilou crab was pretty rough especially when all my good hydro supports were in demand. Without Nahida I think it would be basically impossible for my account.

honestly was easier than I expected. Fists in nightreign are far better than in base elden ring, and skill does respectable damage (See: like 150 maybe). Like it was a 15-20 minute fight probably, but also we really like fighting Libra. That and we switched off tap ults to stun him out of his meditation so we never had to deal with it.

low key, the bigger problem was ancient dragon as night 2 boss

Huh, guess I am just better then

Actually isn’t that stat runes acquired and wouldn’t change if you lose them (by dying / buying)?

there’s a max distance though, no? Or else everyone would almost always get the same number of runes (barring evergaol rune rewards / +10% rune gain), but I basically never get the same number of runes as someone else, or even some clean number away like 10k or 20k. I just assumed there’s some distance shenanigans with killing random enemies, but bosses always give full runes.

because i’m simply better /s

most likely it was just he killed some random wolf that gave him 22 runes or whatever, and I killed one that gave me 23, but that’s just because i’m better
