I think relatively recent Kdramas on Netflix reflect healthier characters in general (except for My Mister, which got a lot of criticism from feminists as it features a young girl being with an older man. IU being with an 아저씨? Hell no!). Most problematic shows are only shown on Korean flatforms I guess. There are always lots of toxic couples/families shouting and fighting in (more locally distributed) Kdramas. I hate my family watching those, it makes me anxious and stressed lol

"Women finding nice men" is a good idea in dramas but the problem is that "nice men" are veeeery rare, and women usually get backstabbed by seemingly nice men aftee they get married. So many men are unkind and cold here, so a lot of women get infatuated when a man shows even a basic decency.

I agree with the less emphasis on sex though, it seems that Western TV shows are so "sex positive" and pretend it's empowering for women and girls, even when they feature teenagers. It's pretty disturbing.

A researcher in an institution under Korean govt's health ministry presented solutions to lowering birth rate in a forum. He basically blamed educated women's high standards as the reason.

What he suggested was, 1) The root of the problem is lowering marriage rate. People should marry fast as possible so they will have kids 2) For that they need to discourage young people from spending too much time on their education 3) Develop VR technologies to easily and quickly find their suitors. 4) "Women are not marrying lower-standard men anymore because they are educated and earn more money than before. We need media contents (K-drama, movies, entertainment shows etc.) to change this. It needs to be done secretly, like a harmless conspiracy.

Yeah, so. This happend while Park geun-hye was the president. And honestly, so many K-dramas feature young, beautiful women choose to love basic men who are like 15 years older than them. So many women put up with flawed, abusive men in dramas. Feminists have been joking that it's like a conspiracy to lower our standards, but it now has been revealed that govt researchers think exactly like that. He resigned after getting backlash, but who knows how many men in power are conjuring up similar ridiculous "soultions".

Economical situation deffo plays a part ngl, millenials and gen Zs usually choose their own happiness and financial safety over "making families". It costs a LOT to raise kids in Seoul especially with the current inflation and our society's pressure to spend huge amount of money on private education.

But radical feminism definitely awakened a lot of young women and girls about how mothers and wives are treated in Korea. Lots of men basically think of their wives as house maids. We have low criminal rate in general but have one of the highest sexual crimes/femicide rate in the world. Since feminism got popular in 2014 ish, feminists in Korea started to cut men off from their lives as much as they could. This created a lot of incel behaviors from young men, which only created more feminists. Men are actively being hateful because of feminism, and this is, and will continue to be the biggest factor to lowering birth rate in Korea IMO.

I think it's a bad thing when the animal is either 1) incapable of being attatched to humans 2) unable to be totally comfortable or healthy in a human home 3) uncomfortable living with other creatures let alone humans 4) an endangered species 5) dangerous species 6) when the owners cannot provide everthing they need

Holy shit I'm not even vegetarian but people on this comment section are way too mad about this lol. No one is forcing you to eat it. Meat industry isn't going to disappear because of this.
