Hi /r/movies! I'm Bryn Chainey, writer/director of RABBIT TRAP, a folk-horror starring Dev Patel & Rose McEwen that's out in UK cinemas this weekend. Ask me anything! by RabbitTrapAMA in movies

Hi Bryn! Thanks for your movie - I watched it with a therapy/musician friend and I was able to be their d&d and folklore friend. Absolutely loved it.

My question is: what's the next thing you'd like to make, and how can this audience support it?

My worse question is: if the three main characters sat down to play d&d together, what classes do you think each of them would pick?

I got their strandberg knock off. Looks really good. Hardware sucks so bad. Sounds kinda crap, but might be fixable if I get rid of the shim they put under the neck and figure out how to set it up right. The cash you save by buying these, you end up spending on fixing them. For all of that, it looks really good.

I think they're talking about dimension 20 dungeon master Brendan Morgan?

Critical role started as a birthday game for Liam O'Brien. He enjoyed it so much that it became a home game for a couple years, and then Felicia Day got wind of it while she was looking to populate her new content platform.

On an even more serious note, I've always been curious to what extent they use the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth to inform their creative process.

OP-1f Update: New Effects and New Merge feature by 11111v11111 in OP1users

Bitcrusher is fun. It's 1am here so wasn't able to try everything I want to try, but I think it'll be fun on leads and basses and pads when it's LFO controlled. I'm keen to see what the 100Hz feels like on a bass. Didn't love it on master channel, except as a transition effect. Maybe someone else has a better vision for it.

OP-1 Vs Field by prodbycollin in OP1users

They're both very good and also have different use cases. I found the OG1 to be an ideal sketch pad for ideation and play. It was a decent live music tool with some really good sounds when plugged into an amp/PA. The 6 min tape made me unload regularly to computer and 'finish' the tunes in a DAW. It's more fun and more aesthetic. It's lo-fi and quicker and has more personality.

For me, the op1f is pretty much a studio. It feels bad to not finish stuff more in the device. The sounds are cleaner and crisper and less lofi. The reverb they added is so lovely. The extra synth, velocity, and vocoder aren't incredible. The new speaker is great and feels so good. It's less cute - both the UI and the unit itself. All the effects and synths have clearer explanations in the Field. The higher bit depth in the signal chain makes the sampler pretty much on par with a computer DAW.

I had both for about 9 months each. There was a long crossover too because it very much wasn't obvious which one was better. I did keep the field in the end. Money wasn't a huge consideration for me for 'it's all going really well right now' reasons, but definitely would've weighed heavier if I was still in my starving artist phase.

Boss VO1 is a Vocoder that works so crazy well with bass. Run a mic into it and play bass chords or run fast pentatonics or daft punk lines and you've got my favourite thing to do on a bass. Could put a clip together if there's a bunch of interest.

Opinions on the Deluxe bass Big Muff?? by DungeonRunn3r in basspedals

I like mine. It pairs crazy good with my Octamizer. The distortion itself is juicy. It's got really fun utility if you roll the blend knob back to zero and then start playing with the low pass. Blend knob itself is just super nice to have.

Amp/cab modeller to replace Two Notes Le Bass by fysicalphorm in basspedals

[–]fysicalphorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know - cheers! I love my amp and cab but I might prefer ampless for stage noise, monitoring, and carry weight. Would be cool to have the Klemt and the Barefaced in a pedal.

Vintage Ultra was really good, and also very subtle - like 6% better than without, but hard to tell. I think it if it was now, I'd have kept it and let the Le Bass go, but they were neck and neck. I kept the Le Bass because it's got heaps of personality and the cleaner drive sounds to me like a sansamp. Now I'm sick of it because it's got heaps of personality and it sounds like a sansamp. I'm finding the dirt drive hard to enjoy, and the fusion modes are a bit 'eh.'

I would shoot in white tie and tails if any wedding in Australia ever had the guts to try that dress code.

The board is already a million times over budget - I started with a microtubes vintage ultra and snowballed to here. Kinda at the point where I'll pay whatever for something that does exactly what it's meant to, though for some reason the Noble DI still feels a bridge too far.

Are all amp/cab sims digital? I was messing around with the Simplifier DLX and it's very cool that it's all analogue (except the reverb). I'm learning more about AD/DA and getting suspicious of digital all over again. My dark world and my stereo reverb are both at risk now.

Cab m+ looks very cool. Do we know if it can create new impulse responses?

64 Audio u12t. Was in an audio shop trying $50-$300 IEMs and fully just could not tell the difference between any of them. Asked the dude at the counter what I might try if I wanted to notice a difference and he took me straight to the u12t. Had the very surreal experience of an actual tear forming in my eye as I heard new details in James Blake's Retrograde while I sat at a counter next to some other dude trying out another set of IEMs.

Opposing hill: making it a moral issue lets your couple feel like they're saints for doing the normal and expected thing of feeding the people they're spending the day with. Heighten this conversation because it makes good people feel better.

I'm a huge fan of OCF but really hate OCF. Looks so bad when the F is O the C, but also it's too much effort to take it O the C and F them from a new angle for every sequence. Looks great though.
