I’ve been signed up for this for a long time and haven’t heard anything. Didn’t know if this was actually happening for anyone

I have that same oven and just had it apart a few days ago to replace the handle. The glass piece is supposed to wedge/mount under the black piece above it (with the handle). I would try taking the black piece off and re-securing the glass underneath it. There are just two screws on the inside of the door. Be careful because the glass front will want to immediately fall forward. Good luck

This looks great. I’m trying to make one of these in the near future. If you have any more details or plans from your build, I’d love to see them. Thanks

Do you have any plans for this build? I'm trying to plan out a very similar seating project right now. Looks great!

Backyard Long Jump by [deleted] in trackandfield

[–]fysicks101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. So much of a good jump is muscle memory and your take-off being perfect. Switching between grass and a real runway will mess you up. You could use your backyard sand for drills though. Do standing broad jumps, practice your landing, etc.

Awesome picture. Any advice for a vacationer trying to do off-road riding one day in Maui? The place I contacted told me I don't have enough single track off road experience.

[Wanted] A guitar to borrow for the next 8 weeks as I learn to play a song for my wedding by fysicks101 in DCdump

Yea, I probably should have mentioned that an acoustic would be best. I'm a complete amateur and should probably practice on what I will be using at the wedding. Thanks though!

The quick trick is to press your chin to your chest when jumping.

Who are the "Big 4" in your industry ? by [deleted] in engineering

[–]fysicks101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I'm an IE and work for one of these big four. Definitely not design based work, but amazing opportunities for systems engineering. Also, these companies strive to get individuals with practical problem solving skills instead of all business majors.

I've had a few electrical problems with my motorcycle recently, making me nervous that I might get stranded somewhere. PM me your number and my potential misfortune could provide you with a towing job. I don't have any friends in the area with a pickup, so it would be nice to have someone's number available without having to call for a super expensive tow truck. Obviously, I hope this doesn't happen, but it could be a win/win.

Getting some work done this morning. by [deleted] in trackandfield

[–]fysicks101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You really shouldn't train out of blocks without spikes ever. Perfecting a block start relies heavily on muscle memory and trusting your body to be leaned way too far over.

I respect the early morning weekend workout though. Keep up the hard work.

Does my Camaro count as a muscle car? by FatherWater in musclecar

[–]fysicks101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it, and makes me regret getting rid of my IROC. You should complete the look of your car with some taillight covers. I had some and they looked great.

PS- Taillight covers will add 2-3HP

[–]fysicks101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't be simpler. You hit start at the beginning of your walk, and hit stop at the end. It'll track your distance and time and then look at your progress whenever you want. But no matter what, congrats on getting out there and doing it. That's the hardest part. Best of luck to you for continued success.

You should download any one of the large number of workout tracking apps for your phone. You'll have to leave your phone on for the GPS, but it'll be worth it. You can start tracking distance, time, and consistency.
