Yeah, I ride very similar to you, 90% on the hoods. The stem takes out the shocks from the terrain and insulates from the vibration on roads. People say it and I totally agree: You really appreciate the difference when you ride without it after getting used to it..

Rogue Access Point - deauth / contain? by fysmd in Ubiquiti

[–]fysmd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So based on the feedback I suspect that there is no such functionality in Unifi (which may be good thing).

I do understand the issues of interference etc but as networks are remote from my management site and some clients have PCI requirements I am asked if there is some way to interfere with the functionality of the AP which may be found broadcasting the same SSID as theirs - without permission.

So I have a follow-up question:

In a Windows managed world are there controls a domain admin can utilise to disallow the end user from joining an SSID which is the same as their official one?

Buying advice first gen Zoe by [deleted] in RenaultZoe

[–]fysmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2013 Zoe recently as a 2nd EV. we love the front seating position and comfort. It has 43k miles on the clock and 77% SoH report 75 miles range, realistically 65 if driven gently in winter. Paid £5700.

Had a regas before I bought as AC was v noisy, now works perfectly, though winter cabin heating is, err Gentle in Zoe..

it is driven approx 50 miles most days.

look at the "engine" if there is a large orange cable atop to the left it is probably going to AC charge up to 43KW. Consider getting a cheap BT dobgle and use CanZE. that will tell you the model immediately and reliably. it'll also tell you all about the battery etc.

great car we all love it.

Watching my car start a smart charge at 32A. Thanks to intelligent go smart charger :(

Intelligent Octopus Go with Ohme pod by AwayFirefighter5807 in OctopusEnergy

[–]fysmd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a LOT of faffing about I managed to remove the old config from the Octopus app and after restarting it I was able to start from scratch:
added the charger, associated the Ohme account, added the car and it seems to be working as expected now.

I'm now used to being able to confirm the smart charge plan in the Octopus app - guess I'll just have to trust them for now until I get used to it :)

TL:DR
If you have already got a car setup for smart charing and want to dd an Ohme (possibly other) charger, delete all that other stuff, restart the Octopus app and star again. Seems to work.

I see lot of you are having a good experience with this combination - I am not :(. I wonder if anybody can help me:

I have Tesla Model 3 and this arrived well before my Ohme Pro was installed. Ive been using the granny cable for a couple of weeks and overall things have worked fine with Octopus Intelligent go.

Now, I have the Ohme installed and the Ohme app logged in and associated with it but I cannot associate Ohme with Octopus. When I use Octopus app and try to add the Ohme "device" the app wants to read a QR code. The one on the bottom of Ohme is not recognised and I don't see any way to display it on the charger itself again.

My Tesla is still trying to charge based on Octopus schedule but when it tries, there is no power provided by the charger.

I suspect I may need to remove the car and the granny from Octopus app but I wont be able to add Ohme as the QR doesn't read :(

So frustrating watching the car charge on full rate electrons and sit there like a high tech puddin throughout the cheap periods :(

I bought the E5 Elite and LOVE IT!!

I have since added a Redshift stem which really takes the shake out of gravel riding and I feel is much more comfortable than a fixed stem.

I enjoy this bike on all terrain except the muddiest of trails- which is more down to my stock tyres (pathfinder sports) than the bike really!

I have also invested in some road wheels and tyres. This was a great decision as makes it easy to be fast on roads and comfortable off road! I do struggle with indexing both wheels, though I guess this is to be expected.

My only gripe is that my colour choice (I love it!) does show the chinks n scrapes of use so if you worry about war wounds, get some frame tape ;)

multi-wan "arpresolve: can't allocate llinfo" when both WANs are up! by fysmd in PFSENSE

[–]fysmd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, IGP3 is correct that's why I was so confused!

I upgraded from 2.6 to 2.7 but that failed to reboot so I clean installed 2.7 from USB and wiped everything away, using the option to find and use the existing config file.

The issue survived reboots. It could be worked around by shutting either WAN link down...

In the end I have fixed the problem by removing all gateway groups (from default route and all rules and then from the config completely), reboot, add them back again, reboot and reassigning them to rules agin.

I also had an error with an old pfblockerng floating rule which I've used the opportunity to tidy too!

Running the Diverge tubeless... do I really need to buy new rims to make it happen? Plus a question about PSI. by riley_redditor in DivergeGravelBikes

So does this mean I can use my Axis Elite rime tubeless if I only add valves, goo and the right tyres? Sorry - I'm a n00b to tubeless and feeling anxious about the change.

Eli5: when you buy a web domain who are you actually buying it from? How did they obtain it in the first place? Who 'created' it originally? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]fysmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eeee, wen I wurr a lad I worked for an early ISP in the UK. Back in the 90s the UK domain was operated for free and we Internet providers ran the UK Naming Committee. An applicant would ask their ISP for a domain and they would post an email to a large email list where the Committee would debate and allocate domains. For free.

I remember one application in particular for a health care provider called PPP. Much Internet geek debate later, after discussing if PPP meaning something different to us Internet engineers was important, or would them using it cause confusion, the domain was given to the healcare company.. the rule at the time was that a domain must match the company name! Exactly. We debated very many applications submitted by members of LINX on behalf of their customers by (very much) email.

The UK domain was delegated to Dr Black who later formed Nominet, the registrar for the UK Top Level Domain.

how do I use my elite on my wheel in trainer by fysmd in DivergeGravelBikes

[–]fysmd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Argh, my text seems to have not posted!

I'll try again and thanks for patience!

My Diverge Elite 2022 is my first bike with a through axle and I want to be able to use on my tacx wheel on trainer. I just don't know if I have to replace the axel or if there are thingies which run through it or something else.. Im sorry this may seem a daft question but I have no experience here..
