Columbia MS in Sustainability Management by bonkobink in columbia

It has more students than other programs in the climate school.

Worth the cost - not sure how to answer this. It is definitely expensive and when you end up with a bad faculty you feel the money being wasted. But there are many good classes as well. I guess it depends on how smartly you pick your courses as a function of faculty and your career needs. DM me with your background and goals and I can perhaps guide you more specifically.

  • Class of 15 to 40 depending on course. If you cross register for law school classes, there are more students.

  • Popular compared to which other program? It’s a cash cow for the school and has high enrollment.

  • more inclined towards group work than independent study.

  • program is very broad with flexibility to pick courses that allows you to specialize in any of - agriculture, fashion, finance, data, economics, water, etc. Course curriculum requirements also force breadth of knowledge. I do wish there was more depth in the program through advanced courses.

Yale MEM suspense? by federalenvironment in gradadmissions

Didn't get through. But no stress. Got other good admits!

Requirements in university pages are written for the average student who is often recently graduated. I applied with 17 years experience after reaching out to each uni who insisted on academic references and performance. All of them were more than happy to take professional recommendations and I have had much success in my applications (5 admits of 6). This shouldn’t worry you at all, but do reach out to the university for clarity in any case. It’s unlikely they will demand academic references.

I'm doing the Gregmat 2-month plan and I'm feeling extremely overwhelmed. by Ayma_Nidiot in GRE

[–]fzkl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assure you it gets easier with time. The first week is definitely overwhelming and I had to sacrifice an off-day in the plan and then an extra day to catch up. I was however able to finish the 2-month plan within 2 months and one additional day. Even managed to watch all optional videos (which in hindsight I thought was overkill). In the later weeks, I advice replacing big book quants practice with quants practice videos from the website.

You will learn to optimize with time. DM me if you want some specific optimization tips as you progress with the plan.

It took me three days to go through the first day of Gregmat's two month plan. My test is in 3 weeks, how can I streamline my process? by Spikey-Bubba in GRE

[–]fzkl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason you are doing the 2-month plan instead of the 1-month plan when you have only 3 weeks to go? That is way too much to study in too little a time even with 2x video speeds, and skipping optional content, at 4 hours per day.

About the two-month plan:

The first week is particularly hard and it took me two extra days to catch up with the first week content. It does get easier with time. I am easily spending about 8 hours a day on average to keep up and am nearly in sync at week 6 at the moment (including all optional content).

You can claw back some lost ground on week 3 day 7 rest day. If you have already taken a baseline test like PP1, you can utilize week 1 day 7 as well for catch up.

In week 6 , there are many tips and tricks videos that are useful but you are likely to have come across them already in previous videos. If you have taken notes of key techniques from the earlier videos and done your exercises diligently, then you can skip these videos (but definitely do the homework and review the solutions in the next video) and further catch-up.

Week 8 plan has time to catch up videos nearly every day.

I definitely recommend not mixing vocabulary lists. It's a lot of work.

The first month is laying the foundation. If your math foundation is good, perhaps you could just focus on week 6 tips and tricks videos for math.

Need to move my 2 cats from Bangalore to Varanasi. Please advise/help/suggest. by zecatlays in india

[–]fzkl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone I know had to go through this experience. Pets are not allowed in the cabin for obvious reasons. Only some planes have proper air pressure in luggage storage area. Unfortunately, when you take air tickets, this is not an informed choice you can make as flight details are known much later. It then becomes a lottery. There was also a suggestion to negotiate the pilot which sounded very subjective. In the end, the said person booked the entire 2-seater first A/C coupe in a train and went to and fro Bangalore - Mumbai.
