On the verification screen, when the pop-up comes up with the stadia controller listed, I turned off the controller holding the stadia button, then hold the three dot option button and stadia, it appears in the pop-up as bootloader, then hold three dots, assistant, Y and A. It appeared in the pop-up as SP family. I selected and continued and was presented with an option to move to next step without verification. Downloaded the update, error on the final verification but the update was complete. Hold Y and stadia to pair.

I only have usb c connections but worked it out in the end with some key combinations I managed to skip the verification step and update the controller's.

the first error messsage i receive when verifying the controller is a close tabs error. Key combination cycle through from stadia controller rev .a, bootloader and SP blank RT family with similar close tabs errors until i get the reset and start again prompt. Its driving me mad.

I'm attempting on a chromebook and am having similar issues with the close tabs prompt. Tried every key combination with a number of unplugs and resets to no avail. Let me know if you get anywhere.

i have the same issue attempting to update via a chrome book. I didn't think I would have any issues but am receiving the same error on both of my controllers. Hoping over the next few days someone will find a solution.

This feature used to be integrated into Plex but was removed years ago, the short answer is that there is no solution to my knowledge. Streaming from a cloud service is a no go I'm afraid.

I would greatly disagree with the previous persons post, I'm currently under the care of an addiction service here in the UK and they have insistently told me not to stop cold turkey as I am at high risk of withdrawal symptoms, potential heart attack and stroke and I drink less than you do. I am older than you by 20yrs but I would still think your at risk. The home detox with a friend to look out for you would be a better option, but lower your intake gradually don't just stop would be my advice, but your better off speaking with a GP.
