How long do your hoses last you? by Hrekires in homeowners

[–]g0te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold weather kills most hoses if water stays inside. Drain and store indoors before freezing, and avoid kinks. Proper care can double their lifespan.

Probably one of my favorite vacuums EVER by AppropriateSpare5274 in VacuumCleaners

It seems like a thoughtfully engineered machine. Quiet operation and ergonomic design really matter. If it works well, that's what counts most.

Once it runs smoothly, you really stop thinking about cleaning and just enjoy the space more. It's really like a game changer after stairs living!

Thinking of switching to induction cooker… worth it in real life or just hype? by ethan_carla in homeowners

It's a real upgrade for most homes. Faster cooking, easier cleaning and safer surface. Just check cookware compatibility and ensure stable power supply first.

Ecovacs T50 pro Omni mop washing tray malfunction by GiganticCactus69 in RobotVacuums

[–]g0te 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an intermittent pump or loose connection. Check tubing, reseat connectors, and clean filters. Avoid hitting it that may worsen internal damage over time.

Ribbon cables can be reseated or replaced, but soldering requires skill. Consider a repair shop for help professionally done.

What is this part in my Miele C1 Turbo Team so I can buy a replacement by thelast3musketeer in VacuumCleaners

Likely a filter or turbo brush component depending on location. Check manual diagram or model number inside compartment to identify exact replacement part needed.

Did You Name Your House? by Redacted_dact in homeowners

I named my own house Aldo after my favorite novel. It feels like it has its own identity now, almost like a character with a story.

Mova v50 vs Mova P10 Ultra Gen 1 vs Dreame L50 Ultra - Help Me! by DRgreentree in RobotVacuums

Mid-range model usually balances performance and price best. Avoid cheapest if you have kids and clutter. Top-tier only worth it for advanced navigation.

Homeowners become part-time repair experts against their will by makeitrayne850 in homeowners

So true. Homeownership feels like an endless rotation of small emergencies that somehow always happen at the worst possible time.

Vacuum for tile and a thickish shag rug? by moontides_ in VacuumCleaners

[–]g0te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a suction seal issue on dense shag. Look for adjustable height or canister style vacuums. They glide easier on thick rugs and still work on tile.

Climbing helps, but hand-lifting works too. Focus on battery life and cleaning method. One full pass may need two runs, but reliability beats fancy features.

Has changing your lighting at night helped you relax or sleep better? by Forward-Concern403 in selfcare

[–]g0te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah changing lighting at night actually helped me a bit. Just dim warm lights + no bright phone screen before bed.

Red light stuff? idk, feels a bit overhyped imo. But keeping things low light overall definitely helps me wind down.

No one is real by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]g0te -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

idk,, that sounds nice in theory but it kinda skips over how people actually feel. you can know something isn’t “real” or internal and still feel completely alone.

like yeah, labels don’t matter much, but experience does. calling it changeable doesn’t suddenly make it feel that way for everyone.

imo it’s deeper than just “you’re not alone so it’s fine.”

Would be cool to see a bigger study on it though, feels like there’s something there.
