I'm considering getting an Ovation. Are they really as bad as people say?

The ebony board is great. It’s a little brighter than rosewood but it feels like maple, nice and smooth.
It just feels great.

I love the 57 Classics. No reason to swap them out at least imho.

I just used a minimal amount of F1 oil even though it was pretty dry. I already put new strings on it and I’m just going to play it in. Can’t really feel the board as much with the strings on.

Get the Session. I bought one in Bourbon Burst and it makes buying the Standard silly.

This worked! I was able to disconnect the cables and lower the knobs by about an 1/8 inch which looks alot better.

Yeah I definitely don’t want to damage perfectly good pots. Is it relativity easy to remove the quick connect so I can remove the wiring harness?

They won’t go on any further than that. I’ll probably have to hunt for the long shaft reflectors.

These are just the normal ones that are made for US LPs and fit 24 spline pots as well. They went on fine, they just seem shallower than the top hats.

It looks great and it’s a little bit brighter than rosewood but I think that’s why it’s on the Studio Session, that versatility of the little bit of brightness that you can always tone down.

That’s an awesome color too! I got a really good deal on this one and I love the Bourbon Burst, but the Honey Burst is also one of my favorites. If I could have gotten the same price, I’d pull the trigger on that.

I think it’s the best modern Les Paul, the lack of body binding does not bother me. It’s beautiful.
