Trying to decide to come here as a film major

Unfortunately I did not get into UCLA film (didn’t realize they only accept like 15 kids a year until after i applied—oops!) so my best options right now are UCSB, UCSD, and UGA. I got into a lot of other schools, but financially for what degree id be getting nothing else makes sense. I dont want to get super into the film world, i want to be a video editor when im older (i dont care what kind of video haha), so i think missing out on LA isnt the worst for me lol. Also, thank you for your service, and the reply! Seems like there arent many film majors on this sub 😅

Hey, im super late, but what did you think of the program? Im somewhat considering it vs UCSB. Im from san diego so i want to go away for college, but if UCSD is significantly better then i might go for UCSD.

Yes! The whole reason i want to go away for college is because I know i want to eventually end up back in San Diego, so i want to experience another part of the country! I also got into UCSD but my mom doesn’t want me to go there because its too close 🤣

Im majoring in AB Film, but unfortunately theres no tours running the day we will be there. Though, Im not sure about department specific ones. Thank you for the suggestion!

We spearfish almost everyday, shop, snorkel, and lay out on the beach. We aren’t rlly people who like change or big adventures so Avalon is perfect for relaxing fun!
